The Eden City Hotel Groningen lies in the heart of Groningen, across the street from the casino and next to many good restaurants. This modern hotel has a free sauna, a fitness room, and a Turkish bath. Within 10 minutes' walking distance you will find the beautifully restored train station. The car-free city centre is a perfect place to go shopping or enjoy the nightlife.

The Eden City Hotel Groningen is located in the centre of this vibrant university city. You will have no excuse to be bored here: both inside and outside of the hotel there is a lot to see and do. The hotel's staff will gladly help you choose between the city's many possibilities. The hotel has bikes to let which costs €5 per day, which will surely come in handy in the bike-friendly city of Groningen. You can reserve the bikes in advance in the hotel.

All of the rooms have been decorated in a modern fashion, and are equipped with a bathroom with a shower and/or bath, and toilet. The rooms are also fitted with air conditioning, a cable television, pay-TV, a telephone, and a safe.

In the hotel you may relax for free in the sauna, which also boasts a Turkish steam bath. At additional charge guests can use the solarium as well. On every floor there is a coffee maker that guests can use for free. In the Internet Corner you may use the computer at any moment of the day free of charge. The rooftop terrace offers a nice view of the city and can also function as the backdrop to a reception or party of up to 50 persons.

Food and Drinks

Every day between 07:00 and 10:30 h. the hotel serves a continental breakfast buffet in the breakfast restaurant. On the weekend this breakfast is served between 08:00 and 11:30 h. Every floor of the Eden City Hotel Groningen offers coffee and tea making facilities that guests can use for free. For those who do not wish to leave the hotel for dinner there is a pizza self-service.
The atmospheric hotel bar is open every day. Besides a good glass of wine or a nice beer this bar also offers some small bar snacks. It is open on Monday through Thursday from 17:00 to 01:00 h., on Friday and Saturday from 16:30 to 01:00 h, and on Sundays from 18:00 to 24:00 h.
The hotel does not have its own restaurant for lunch or dinner, but this should not be a problem at all. On the street Kattendiep alone, where the hotel is located, there is already a wide choice of restaurants. Here you will find some excellent restaurants that vary greatly in atmosphere and cuisine. Spanish, Cuban, Tuscan, Chinese, and vegetarian; you are bound to find something to your liking.

Internet

Guests can use the Internet Corner for free, 24 hours a day. This small business centre has three computers and a printer. Guests have access to wireless Internet in the lobby as well.

Surroundings

The 750-year old city of Groningen has much to offer, also in a cultural-historical sense. This Renaissance courtyard contains a rose garden, an herb garden, and a walking path with ivy-covered arches. The entrance boasts what experts argue is the finest sun dial in The Netherlands. Close to this garden you can climb the 97-meter high Martini Tower, which offers a truly breathtaking view of Groningen.

Very enjoyable stay

Very comfortable in central location to City and public transport. Was very satisfied with visit. Room was very clean and air conditioning was first class. Bed was also very comfortable.

The reception staff is very kind and helpful. Free coffee and tea is a really nice touch. If I return to Groningen in the future I probabily stay ay this place.

One morning I descovered that the expected bath cap at the bathroom was in reality a shoe brush. The housekeeper has mistaken (same package). Later on I call the reception asking for one bath cap. Well, they were very sorry, but she had left already. Next day I asked again, but it was week end and she was not avalable. I was never succeded!

Even though I showed at 10 a.m. and there was some problem with my e-mail reservation, I did find that the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was compact and clean, exactly fine for my purposes. The location is perfect, minutes from the train/bus stations and minutes to the Grote Markt and other attractions. The breakfasts had very good selections and were plentiful. I would recommend your hotel.
