Hotel Corps de Garde Groningen was built in 1634 and is provided with all modern comforts, yet its rich history is still tangible. The beautifully restored barroom offers an oasis of tranquillity, where guests may enjoy a fine glass of wine or a freshly-baked croissant. The library, that is specialised in books about the region, is also situated in the barroom. The lovely historic building is located at the ring of inner city canals and overlooks the former cattle-market; the 'Ossenmarkt'. The hospitable hotel staff will do their utmost to create a pleasant and informal atmosphere.
The beautiful premises houses 19 comfortable rooms that are all unique and decorated in a modern-classical style. The original wooden beams from 1634 can still be seen on the ceilings of many rooms, which give them a fairy-like atmosphere. All rooms have a private bathroom with a bath or shower and toilet. Furthermore, they are provided with a television, direct-dial telephone and free wireless Internet. Bicycles can be rented at the hotel as well, which enables guests to easily explore the particularly bicycle-friendly town of Groningen.

The extensive breakfast buffet is set up on weekdays from 07:30 to 10:00 h. and on weekends from 08:00 to 11:00 h. The lovely barroom serves as a perfect place to enjoy some freshly-baked rolls or croissants.
