Plaza or New Academy, both very good

being a bit out of town the Plaza is a very relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant makes up for not being close to the centre of the town when it comes to dinning.

I arrived in Groningen thinking I had booked the Hampshire New Academy, so had to go to the Plaza for one night before going to the New Academy. I later moved back to the Plaza. Both Hotels are excellent, only the booking system seems to make mistakes (appears more than one customer has had this problem).

A nice hotel near the beautiful lakes of Groningen

The hotel is a modern, excellent construction, well insulated both heat and noise wise, and offers a nice and comfortable stay. It is very clean, quite and of proper standards. A thing to try is the restaurant - unbelievably nice food.

Its a bit further out from the city center but the bus service is frequent and the distance not that long.

This was a real surprise hotel! Excellent facility and a great staff. Front desk was very well manned by Edmond. Room was clean and satisfied our needs. Overall I would give it 4 stars.

large room with separate WC. Swimming pool reasonable (despite green water. The location is also very accessible for the centre of Groningen, without having parking difficulties.

Cleaners forgot to clean room on 1 of 3 day stay. If you do not literally throw you towels on the floor, they are not touched at all, so left in the sink, or wherever you leave them. The restaurant produces fabulous food but the service is so slow. The bedrooms, although spacious, are very bare / basic. It did not feel like a 4* hotel. That said, quite a friendly hotel.

Cheap, at the internet price TV worked.

Room cramped. Have to climb over furnture to get to wardrobe. Shower temperature difficult to control. Restaurant closes stupidly early, and has very minimal, pretentious, menu. Bar smells of tobacco smoke, very poor selection of drinks. window blind broken, window filthy. Got bitten alive by mosquitos while asleep. Difficult to find on the ground, nothing on web site is any help with getting there. Parking odd. Staff very unhelpful. Breakfast average - poor quality cheese and ham, scrambled eggs left out for hours.

Zeer mooie lobby en receptie. Vriendelijk en adequaat personeel. De kamer was voldoende en de bedden zeer goed. Mooie ligging van het hotel.

Het personeel bij het ontbijtbuffet (één persoon) was veel te weinig. De gasten dienden aan een vuile (niet afgedekte tafel te zitten) die dan nadien werd afgeruimd. Het ontbijtbuffet werd ook veel te laat bijgevuld of helemaal niet meer (wegens nogmaals het gebrek aan genoeg personeel). Het ontbijtbuffet op zich was anders heel lekker.

modern and trendy restaurant, the location near the water as well as near the city, plenty of space in the rooms. good coffeemachine. And the people who work there came across relaxed, nice and friendly.

We had more expectations of breakfast, no fresh juice, hard (old) croissants and bread buns. We looked at the menu's for dinner and it looked high-quality, with that in mind we thought breakfast would be as well. Not bad but not much special. No routedescritions to the lake for walking, biking, renting a boat in the hotel, etc.

Staff on desk during day were very friendly

After studying for an exam in my room all day, i stopped by the bar for a quick coffee. there was no indication/sign stating a private function was going to be taking place. I had just started my coffee when a man starts asking me questions, which i have no idea about and when i say i do not know what is happening, with everyone looking at me,I was quite abruptly asked to leave. Due to the hotels location where else was i supposed to go for a coffee. not happy about that at all.

Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich.

Das Hotel liegt zu weit außerhalb der Stadt. Die Materialien im Badezimmer ist relativ schlecht verarbeitet. Die braune Wand hinter dem braunen Bett macht das Zimmer zu dunkel.

Uitstekend stadshotel in landelijke omgeving

Echt supermooie locatie, alles schoon, modern hotel. Prachtig gelegen aan het water. Op 5 minuten van de stadskern Groningen.

Graag een wandelpad tussen het meer en hotel. Het mest snijdt aan twee kanten, makkelijk voor de hotelgasten en meer gasten voor het hotel.

Rustig gelegen. Van de snelweg hoor je praktisch niets. Ruime kamer (comfort). 2 wastafels, aparte toilet.

Kamer is erg sober ingericht. Er had een schemerlampje meer mogen hangen of staan. De stoeltjes van de zithoek zitten niet echt comfortabel, te hoog en te rechtop.

Keurig hotel, gunstig gelegen voor bezoek aan de stad Groningen.

Dicht bij de stad Groningen. Ondanks de ligging naast de A28 geen verkeershinder. Alles ziet er goed verzorgd uit.

Onze kamer was keurig, maar vrij krap. Geen plaats voor een makkelijke stoel, en de bureaustoel stond zowat tegen het bed aan.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Hund, wohl längere Zeit nicht bewohnt,leider Möbel und Fussboden recht staubig.Kleider- schrank und Schubladen von innen schmutzig.Zimmer recht klein, keine Sitzgelegenheit bis auf einen Stuhl vorm Schreibtisch und wenige Ablagebmöglichkeiten für Gaderobe, Koffer und Kleinig- keiten., im Badezimmer gar nicht vorhanden. Wenig Infomaterial auf dem Zimmer( in der Mappe), was da war leider in holländischer oder englischer Sprache,obwohl viele deutsche Gäste im Hotel waren und Groningen nur ca. 70 km von der deutschen Grenze entfernt.ist. Da erwarte ich von einem 3 Sterne Hotel ein wenig mehr und habe in Holland auch schon bessere 3 Sterne Hotels kennen gelernt. Dieses Hotel würde ich nicht nochmal bucheb!
