Description
Stee in Stad Groningen is a special place to stay. Three apartments were magically turned into hotel rooms. Each accomodation has 3 rooms, a communal bathroom and a kitchen. The reception is in a former local shop, just 400 metres from all three apartments. The hotel is managed by volunteers. After you have checked-in you will receive a map and a key to the premises.
The Korrewegwijk district lies within 5 minutes from the city centre and is easily accessible by bicycle and public transport. In the bustling centre of Groningen you will find numerous shops ranging from large chains to quaint boutiques. After a day of shopping you can enjoy a drink on one of the numerous outdoor cafés, weather permitting of course. One out of five inhabitants of Groningen is a student. Because of this, the atmosphere is always very lively and there is plently of nightlife. Groningen also has much to offer it terms of culture.
When staying in Groningen, a visit to the Martinitower is a must. This 97 metre high tower was used for centuries as a fire signal tower. It is now possible to climb this tower. From the first ramparts, you´ll have a first class view of the city.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is served daily from 08:30 - 11:00 in the building where the reception is. Stad in Stee does not have a bar or restaurant. However, you can get discount vouchers for a bite to eat and a drink in various pubs and restaurants in the area.

Other information
- Stee in Stad does not have a 24-hour reception. From Monday till Wednesday guests can check-in until 21:00, from Thursday till Saturday guests can check-in until 22:00, and on Sunday until 18:00. It is possible to check-in later, subject to agreement.
- An additional bed can be placed in the room, on request for €15 a night.
- Pets are not allowed at the hotel.
- Luggage can be stored at the hotel (on request).
Surroundings
From Stee in Stad in the Korrewegwijk neighbourhood, it´s easy to cross the Starkenborgh canal, where you can then enjoy lovely walking or cycling trips around the Groningen countryside. Kardinge sports centre can also be reached within 15 minutes. Kardinge has a subtropical swimming pool, tennis courts and an ice skating rink.
