The menu has various kinds of pastas, salads, and meat and fish specialities.For a pleasant glass of beer it is hard to think of a better place to go than Grand Cafè de Gouverneur, which has been named the most atmospheric Grand Café in The Netherlands. The interior is decorated with antiquities from all over the world. It frequently occurs that one of the guests will take place behind the piano on the podium and treat the café's visitors to a private concert.

Excellent location and connections. Located in the very city center with everything within walking distance yet very quiet room. Nice staff. Great breakfast

The mattress in our room was serious old and saggy. The carpet on the floors was orange and therefore stains were visible. The bathroom had limited air ventilation so it took a while for it to dry

Great potential because of its location but in need of refurbishment.

The location was excellent, just behind the St. Bavo Church close to all sights.

The quality of the room was poor. It was in need of a good refurbishment that should see the bed (two singles pushed together, mattress seemed to be made of foam i.e. no support) and carpet replaced and the room painted (it smelled of mould).

Ambassador Hotel Haarlem - Evaluation

Convenient for Haarlem Center and getting about. Price is about right for amenities and standard.

Rooms and decor a bit tired, especially dining room, needs sprucing up. Service could be improved, staff friendly but too few in number. Restaurant not open on Monday evening, but other restaurants were close by. Finding way around hotel was not easy, many corridors and not enough signs.

Friendly in the old city

Very friendly and helpful staff. In the middle of the old city (which means a bit far from the railway station and the bus station, but this was no problem for me) Free and easy WIFI connection. I would like to return, together with my family.

Maybe more info about bus lines and time tables could be suitable.

This a very convenient location. The hotel bar is a fun and lively joint. Room 413 is big with a great view of the Grotemarkt.

On the flip side, the hotel is in the middle of the busiest part of town. The day starts loudly and early. So, if you are not a the early -bird type, you might want to ask for the quietest room.

Very Central Location for our needs. Easy access to Train station and busses. Breakfasts not worth the asking price, but convenient if you don't want to scout the neighbourhood. Hotel staff very helpful and pleasant when attending to our needs.

Our shower cubicle VERY badly designed , whole bathroom floor drenched after each shower. The curtain was 8 inches off the floor, no splash ridge, and no solution to correct the extremely slippery floor, which is vinyl. This will be a nightmare for elderly people. Lumpy pillows and coarse sheets, both of which were gladly changed at our request.

The location with regards to the town square was perfect. For what we paid, we really enjoyed the quality of the hotel.

The hotel bar music was very loud, and since we were on the first floor, it was a bit annoying when we were trying to go to bed early. Also, one of our windows had a loose seal, so it was drafty at times.

Very heavy Egyptian theme running throughout hotel - didn't find out why. Also, the lobby area is stuffed to the rafters with antique clocks, none of which seemed to work! Very interesting and ornate furniture in room. Never seen anything quite like it before!

Hard bed bases, but I guess that's pretty common in Holland. Adjoining bar was overcrowded and very loud on Friday night, but found a quiet corner so no problem.

Large room and bath. Comfortable beds. Great location. Clean. Convienent to Amsterdam and cost much less. Have stayed there numerous times over several years and return because of high quality and satisfaction relative to cost.

No breakfast (not even coffee/tea and roll) for breakfast. They will provide one at additional cost. Large showers have very tall spray head with a weak water stream. Takes some time to wash and rinse your hair. But there is plenty of shower space to do it. Last time we stayed there the garbage can that was full from the previous guest had not been cleaned out.

Ligging vh hotel is ideaal!!! Kamer niet aan de voorzijde is prettig w.b. de nachtrust! Mogelijkheid tot inpandig "doorsteken"naar restaurant en cafe zeer prettig. Op wat kritische noten na bij minpunten prima verblijf gehad!

Bij binnenkomst "rioollucht" uit badkamer. ......"went" (voor 2 nachten te doen) Afvoer werkt niet, gemeld, reactie :schijnt "bekend" of mogelijk teveel stoom...? Vaag. afzuiging in badkamer is onvoldoende. hierdoor schimmel in voegwerk en kitwerk. Ook bleef hierdoor badkamer veel te lang nat na het douchen (uren). Buren hadden 't zelfde probleem, hierdoor ging midden in de nacht zelfs het brandalarm af.

Mooi ingericht hotel, lekker centraal gelegen

Mooie kamer, schitterend uitzicht op de Bavokerk. Heel centraal gelegen, alles op loopafstand. Aardig, behulpzaam personeel. Hotel is met veel zorg vormgegeven, veel antiek, sfeervol!

Jammer dat er geen waterkokertjes op de kamer staan, maar fijn dat we heel de dag koffie en thee mochten pakken in de ontbijtzaal. De douche was echt niet fijn, kleine straal, niet consistent warm.

Ligging is super, midden in het centrum. ontbijt was goed.

De badkamer is waardeloos. Mini wastafel zonder ruimte voor je toilettas. Na het douchen is alles, de hele vloer en de wc en de wcrollen, helemaal nat! Kamer en badkamer roken vanaf de middag naar eten, zat boven de keuken.....

Prima hotel op goede locatie

Prima kamer met fijne bedden op een mooie locatie.

Er was een stagiaire die er niet veel zin in had. De receptioniste die ons incheckte vertelde daar uitgebreid over. Dat moet je niet doen tegenover gasten, dat is onprofessioneel.
