The 30 stylish and comfortable rooms are all marked by their unique interiors. A number of rooms also have an excellent view of the Sint Bavo Church. All rooms have a double bed or two separate beds and a bathroom with a bath and/or shower and a toilet. The rooms also have a television, radio, central heating, safe, and free wireless internet. Anonymous Great location hotel, but booking was wrong: 20 December 2011; 5.6; + Great location and friendly and helpful receptionist (lady).; - We did not get the room we actually booked, it was a different room. This was very disappointing, since I especially called in advance to make sure that we would get the room that was on the website picture of Hotels.nl. Really a bummer. Since we were in a rush to leave in the morning, and drop-dead tired at arrival, we could not bother to complain about this. But because of this we will not recommend this hotel to anyone else. Pity!

Anonymous A good hotel experience: 7 November 2011; 7.2; + We enjoyed our stay , the lady that did breakfast was a very helpful and the food was good , although it was probably the first time we had had rice for breakfast , it was actually quite nice . We had some real noisy people opposite our room who woke us up at 3am , it turned out that they were some performers from a show at the opera , after asking them to keep it down they were fine . They were real characters who after meeting them we didnt mind the noise . Real central and nice walk to the station .Although we did forget to visit the splendid cathedral right next door , how we managed that i dont know , so i suppose we will be back next year to try again .

Excellent service, ideal situation.: 15 November 2010; 9.6; + Great Hotel in centre of Haarlem a wonderful historic town 20 mins from Airport, Amsterdam and the Seaside are easily accessible. Pleasant helpful staff. Nice Hotel Bar and plenty of restaurants close by. Ideal for the main Square and historic Chuch in Haarlem and nice shopping area. Well worth a visit to the Ambassador.; - No problems, good Hotel, great service.

Receptionist told us that the heating was broken and decision made not to repair as too costly! Floor very dirty after using the shower my feet were instantly covered in hairs, dirt from previous guests. Mattress was falling apart with all the stuffing coming out. No bottom sheet on bed apart from a very badly fitting elasticated jersey cover. No shelving space for underwear, pullovers etc. We had to keep most of the luggage in our cases.

It was in need of a good refurbishment that should see the bed (two singles pushed together, mattress seemed to be made of foam i.e. no support) and carpet replaced and the room painted (it smelled of mould).

John P Ambassador Hotel Haarlem - Evaluation: 30 June 2009; 6.6; + Convenient for Haarlem Center and getting about. Price is about right for amenities and standard.; - Rooms and decor a bit tired, especially dining room, needs sprucing up. Service could be improved, staff friendly but too few in number. Restaurant not open on Monday evening, but other restaurants were close by. Finding way around hotel was not easy, many corridors and not enough signs.

Room 413 is big with a great view of the Grotemarkt.; - On the flip side, the hotel is in the middle of the busiest part of town. The day starts loudly and early. So, if you are not a the early -bird type, you might want to ask for the quietest room.

Breakfasts not worth the asking price, but convenient if you don't want to scout the neighbourhood. Hotel staff very helpful and pleasant when attending to our needs.; - Our shower cubicle VERY badly designed , whole bathroom floor drenched after each shower. The curtain was 8 inches off the floor, no splash ridge, and no solution to correct the extremely slippery floor, which is vinyl. This will be a nightmare for elderly people. Lumpy pillows and coarse sheets, both of which were gladly changed at our request.

Free internet.; - Beds were uncomfortable...could feel the springs. Would have like to have been told that would be staying in the joops hotel which was two blocks away from lobby of ambassador.

For what we paid, we really enjoyed the quality of the hotel.; - The hotel bar music was very loud, and since we were on the first floor, it was a bit annoying when we were trying to go to bed early. Also, one of our windows had a loose seal, so it was drafty at times.

Stefan, Iceland: 18 December 2007; 9.0; + Very quiet and comfortable hotel. Good restaurant Pasta Pasta.; - The carpets needs to be cleaned or changed. The room was open once when we came! But nothing was missing.

Helen: 9 October 2007; 7.8; + Very heavy Egyptian theme running throughout hotel - didn't find out why. Also, the lobby area is stuffed to the rafters with antique clocks, none of which seemed to work! Very interesting and ornate furniture in room. Never seen anything quite like it before!; - Hard bed bases, but I guess that's pretty common in Holland. Adjoining bar was overcrowded and very loud on Friday night, but found a quiet corner so no problem.

Marco Tyler: 7 October 2007; 8.8; + Large room and bath. Comfortable beds. Great location. Clean. Convienent to Amsterdam and cost much less. Have stayed there numerous times over several years and return because of high quality and satisfaction relative to cost.; - No breakfast (not even coffee/tea and roll) for breakfast. They will provide one at additional cost. Large showers have very tall spray head with a weak water stream. Takes some time to wash and rinse your hair. But there is plenty of shower space to do it. Last time we stayed there the garbage can that was full from the previous guest had not been cleaned out.

Kamers waren netjes en schoon.; - De kamers waren nogal apart ingericht, totaal niet onze smaak. Het was wel schoon en dat is voor ons het belangrijkste. De koffie bij het ontbijt was niet lekker. De bedden waren erg hard, is niet prettig als je dat niet gewend bent.

Deze heeft zeker een facelift nodig. Vloerbedekking in de gangen heeft zeker een schoonmaakbeurt nodig.

Goede matras.; - vreselijk kitscherige aankleding van de kamer: alles in oud-Egyptische stijl. Voor hetzelfde geld had het een mooie kamer kunnen zijn. Het had ook schoner gekund.

Alhoewel het mooi toont, zou een laminaat/zijlvloer beter zijn. En minder donker.

Er is ruimte om je bagage na het uit checken neer te zetten.; - De bedden waren erg hard. De kussens waren te klein en zacht, het kan al helpen als er extra kussens in de kamers worden neer gelegd. Het zou prettig zijn, als er een losse douche kop bij de douche zat.

Frederike van Sliedregt Mooie centrale ligging: 28 October 2011; 7.4; + Mooi in het centrum vd stad en we konden kosteloos uurtje later uitchecken. Prachtig uitzicht op de St Bavo kerk. Veel leuke eetgelegenheden en sneupwinkeltjes; - Onder de slaapkamer werd "verbouwd". Na het ontbijt werden we verrast door WHHHHHHHHHHAH een muis.............rrrrrrrrrrrrrrt in de eetzaal!
