Amrâth Grand Hotel Frans Hals is a recent newcomer in Haarlem: it opened its doors October 2006. This stylish hotel offers excellent facilities in a contemporary and luxury ambiance. Amrâth Grand Hotel Frans Hals has opened its doors in October 2006 and can thus offer its guests a fresh and modern accommodation for a memorable stay in the city. The impressive stairwell with its stained-glass dome has a very unique design. The hotel has an atmospheric bar. The hotel has a spacious accommodation for meetings in collaboration with Concert Hall 'De Philharmonie', which has a maximum capacity of 1500 persons.

All hotel rooms have been stylishly decorated and offer all the desired comfort. The rooms have two excellent beds and a bathroom with a bath, luxury bathrobe, shower, and toilet. In addition, the rooms are equipped with a television with an LCD screen, high speed Internet connection, and a telephone. pleasant but noisy stay

We enjoyed being so close to the town centre. Parking possiblilty underneath the hotel.

Unfortunately we had a room on the first floor at the side and were woken up many times during the night due to the noice of the pub around the corner. I think the hotel should invest in noise proof windows as this is very anoying now but specialy if you would have paid the full price for the room in the hotel. It felt we were sleeping with an open window!! You should have a parking discount for cutomers. To pay 60 euro´s for 2 days is a bit much!

Nice place to stay

Although only one night, we had a very pleasant en comfortable stay. We made use of a special offer, which appeared to be about 1/3 of the original room rate. Price-quality ratio therefore was oke, but the original rate is way overpriced. The room was nice but small without special features

A Happy Stay

the hotel was very easy to book though hotels.nl The room was lovely, and the bathroom particularly nice. The A/C was great! The hotel gave an impression of easy going efficiency. A wonderful position right in the centre of the old town, near to museums, art galleries, and the truly amazing Grote Kerk. We were very pleased with the free wireless internet too.

We would have preferred the option of a double bed.

Great value at a great location

This hotel was a great value for the location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large (based on European standards) and very clean. Loved the free use of the internet so we could contact family to let them know of our safe arrival.

The location of the hotel was very good and the rooms were nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable.

All the water stations on our floor were empty when we arrived and still empty when we left. I had asked for an ice pack, to ease a bad back and reduce swelling on my leg. This never arrived. The dressing gowns were a lovely idea but the toweling fabic was hard to the touch. In the bath there were anti slip stickers also a good idea but where you actually step in the bath there are none. I slipped and bruised my leg quite badly.

Very good if you can get a cheap deal

Got a cheap last minute deal - normally way out of my price range. It's a nice comfortable hotel, right in the middle of Haarlem. Big rooms, good bathroom

My room at the back was a bit noisy during the night. People seemed to talk very loud in the lane below. Breakfast overpriced if you don't eat much.

Very helpful staff.Aalthough there is nowhere for guests to store luggage if they will not be leavibg before the check out time, they did keep my suitcases for me.

The bed was too soft and this meant I had a stiff back when I got up. The non slip section of the shower did not extend to where you had to get out and this meant you were in danger of slipping as you got out of the shower.This non slip section should be extended.Also there was only a half partition to prevent water from going onto the floor while taking a shower. I found that sometimes water did go onto the floor.

Street can be quite noisy at weekend nights, but if you close the window the room gets stuffy rather quickly. Overall well worth it's money.

Unfriendly reception personnel (one of them). Offer to pick-up something from the room was charged for 4 euros. No twinbeds.(not available at all). Only one bathrobe. Hot water varying much in temperature. Used nail-file. Breakfast ordercard was lost. No fresh orange juice. Shortterm reservation not received by hotel( they were very fussy about it). Bad smell in elevator. Average quality breakfast. Small bathtub.

Goede ligging, verzorgd, prima bedden en faciliteiten.

Ligging midden in de stad, toch rustig. Verzorgd, nieuwe bad-kamer, schoon, prima bedden. Vriendelijke receptie. Lift aanwezig. Hal en gangen ruim opgezet. Goede faciliteiten/ service: TV, DVD, Internet (ook op kamers), kluisje, fohn, badjas, thee/koffie, mini-bar, uitgebreide roomservice (o.a. drankjes, borrelhapjes en avondmaaltijden), strijkplank en strijkijzer te leen, stomerijservice, films te leen (1 x gratis), bagagebewaarservice na uitchecken.

Geen echte minpunten, alleen wat aandachtspunten. Zou iets hipper kunnen, bv minder traditionele stoffering van kamers. Badkamer ziet er wel eigentijds uit, maar douchen in dit bad is niet ideaal; bad is vrij smal en glazen douchewand is niet wegklapbaar, waardoor de instap moeizaam kan zijn. Bovendien sta je tijdens douchen op de afsluiter van het doucheputje (gevaar voor uitglijden!) dat zich dan sluit waardoor water niet meer afgevoerd wordt. Geen planchet o.i.d. in de douche voor flesjes/ zeep. Verlichting is voldoende aanwezig, maar zou beter aan de sfeer aan te passen zijn met bijv. dimmers. Nu kan je alleen een bad nemen in het donker of in een helderverlichte badkamer. Goede waterkoker aanwezig, alleen zou het thee- en koffieassortiment wat doordachter mogen zijn. Zelf hadden we bijv. voor twee personen exact twee theezakjes op de kamer in de smaken aardbei en bosvruchten, en geen neutralere smaken. Eventueel een extraatje in de vorm van een chocolaatje, flesje wijn of een of andere Haarlemse lekkernij (misschien in thema van Frans Hals) zou de wat luxere sfeer en de prijs/kwaliteitverhouding meer tot zijn recht laten komen.

Luxe en romantisch weekend Haarlem

Het hotel is erg goed gelegen midden in het centrum, en ademt veel sfeer. De kamers zijn luxe ingericht, schoon en modern , met heerlijke (extra lange!) bedden, flatscreen, koffie en thee, etc. Je bent echt van alle gemakken voorzien!

Geen parkeergelegenheid, warm op de kamers (niet in te stellen). Verder was de communicatie tussen personeel onderling niet aanwezig. Ik had om een cadeau (verassing voor partner) verzocht op de kamer en dit uitgebreid per mail en telefoon gecommuniceerd, waarna bij het inchecken met mijn partner erbij gevraagd werd: "Oh ja en wat betreft de rozen op de kamer... " Later werd uitgebreid excuses gemaakt maar voor een 4 sterren hotel dient dit gewoon goed geregeld te zijn.

Fijn hotel in hartje Haarlem

Uitstekende ambiance, zeer correcte en vriendelijke bediening, dankzij een flinke korting betaalbaar, exact in het het hart van Haarlem waar het uitgaansleven zich afspeelt. Luxe alom en uitstekend geslapen.

Erg hoge parkeerkosten. Erg duur ontbijt (bij Brinkman aan de Grote Markt heel goed ontbeten voor ongeveer de helft van de kosten). En € 3,50 voor een zakje M&M's uit de minibar is ook niet mis.

Voor herhaling vatbaar, maar dan een rustiger kamer.
