Hotel Marktzicht is located in the lively and car-free historic centre of Harderwijk. On the atmospheric central market there are many restaurants and cafés. Both the inside and outside of this beautifully restored building have a lot of atmosphere. The homely and hospitable atmosphere is the result of the personal approach from the host and hostess.
The rooms are spread out over two buildings. There are some rooms that have a view of the vibrant central market. Other rooms look out over the rustic park 'De Hortus.' All rooms are non-smoking and are equipped with a bathroom with a shower and toilet, a telephone, and digital television. The hotel also offers the possibility of using the WiFi internet through KPN HotSpots, at an additional charge. The lounge is a perfect place for some relaxation.
Within walking distance of the hotel guests can visit the harbour area, which also displays many ships of the fleet that used to sail the former Zuiderzee and the IJsselmeer. Harderwijk dates from 1231 and has a wealth of historically and culturally interesting attractions. Those who are interested can find out all about the city's turbulent history in the 'Stadsmuseum' (city museum) in Harderwijk.
i]The hotel lies in a closed pedestrian area. Hotel guests can report at the reception by means of a bell in the street 'Luttekepoortstraat'. After contact with the reception, hotel guests can then drive into the pedestrian area to unload their luggage.

On weekdays the hotel sets up a delicious breakfast buffet in the breakfast area in the basement between 07:00 and 10:00 h. and on weekends between 08:00 and 10:30 h. A packed breakfast or lunch is possible on request as well.
For fine dining guests can pay a visit to the many good restaurants in Harderwijk. There are plenty of good options for dinner around the market square. This area also has many lively (outdoor) cafés.

Within walking distance of Hotel Marktzicht lies the Dolfinarium Harderwijk, the largest sea-animal park in Europe. Here guests can pet a shark, or watch the spectacular shows with dolphins, walrusses, sea lions, and seals. Other attractions that are closeby are the amusement park 'Walibiworld', the monkey zoo 'De Apenheul', and the National Aviation Themepark 'Aviodrome'. The latter is open the entire year and has a large exposition room, a film theatre, and a large outdoor terrain with various airplanes.

- At the hotel reception you can obtain a free exemption pass, which you can use as a parking pass during your stay. Then you can park your car in the nearby parking facility P16 (Vitringasingel), within 300m from the hotel. Don't forget to buy a car park ticket in case you park your car before you have obtained the exemption pass.The hotel also hires out several covered parking spaces in a garage (P 15, De Hortus), which is locked at night. The hotel can be reached via the street Luttekepoortstraat (navigation tip), which is closed by a blockade. Via the intercom system you can reach the reception. They can then lift the blockade, so you can unload your car in front of the hotel.
