Stadslogement Almenum lies in the historic centre of Harlingen, in the province of Friesland. The hotel is located in a 17th century storehouse and four working-class houses that have been completely restored. These buildings now contain luxury apartments, where you can enjoy a pleasant stay.
In the Frisian harbour city of Harlingen, the Stadslogement Almenum is one of the many wonderful monuments of the city. The entrance to this guesthouse can be accessed through the rustic courtyard, where you can enjoy a moment of rest on sunny days.
The apartments all have a separate entrance. In the apartments guests have a bathroom with a toilet, bath/shower, and a washing basin. There is a sitting area with a television, a radio, and a telephone. In the three-room lodging there is also an open kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, and cooking facilities. This apartment can be used by a maximum of four persons, as the sofa bed in the sitting area can be used as a bed. The two-room appartments are equipped with a kitchenette instead of a kitchen. Almenum also offers a laundry service for its guests.
Food and Drinks
In the guesthouse you can enjoy a continental breakfast buffet between 07:30 and 10:00 h. In case you would like to have breakfast before 07:30 h. The hotel can make a breakfast- package for you on request. As of December 2008 the hotel has its own restaurant 'Bij de Buurvrouw'. Guests can make reservations for a three course dinner at the hotel.

Surroundings
Stadslogement Almenum lies in the old city centre of Harlingen. Harlingen is one of the eleven cities on the route of the legendary speedskating event the 'Elfstedentocht'. This Frisian harbour city has no less than 500 monumental buildings that are more than worth visiting. An exploration of Harlingen will take you back through centuries long past. The original ring of canals, the storehouses, and the characteristic Dutch houses with their remarkable gables can still be admired today.

- Nice and comfortable family accommodation in the midst of Harlingen
- It's a lovely, very central and quiet location, in the midst of Harlingen. Very well preserved and functionally converted period warehouse. Very comfortable accommodation, two level split apartment - way above a standard hotel room! Great to have a separate living room cum kitchen in addition to bedrooms!
Nice breakfast included also - a very nice mixture between holiday apartment and hotel!
- The furnishings are partially a little bit dated, but nonetheless clean. Bathroom had some broken light fittings.
On Saturday night it was very noisy due to an open air disco in town, audible just about everywhere - but that's not the accommodation's fault!

The hotel was good - I always like a place to stay that has some historical interest. Also, the more general location of Harlingen had strong appeal to me and I simply commuted from there to Franeker where I was doing some research at the Eisinga
Planetarium.

I am not an overly fussy traveller with respect to luxury accommodation. For this reason I gave top marks to most of your categories above understanding that some visitors might find a few shortcomings where I simply didn't notice any. What I would appreciate though - as a non luxury seeking traveller - is the option of a simpler room at some lower cost. The accommodation was good but I mostly didn't use the kitchen area and could easily have got by without it (perhaps just a coffee maker or something like that). So, my one suggestion (which I'm deliberately putting in the plus rather than minus side of your question) would be for a more varied selection of room types (and associated rates).
I would - and might - stay at Stadslodgement again.

- ruim verblijf van goede kwaliteit, prachtige locatie en een vriendelijke service. Een uitstekend verzorgd ontbijt completeerde ons verblijf.
- In het huisje waar wij verbleven was het toilet beneden en de slaapkamer boven, als je slecht ter been bent en ook nog 's nachts er uit moet is dat lastig. Wellicht een punt om te vermelden als je boekt.

- Voormalig pakhuis in het centrum van Harlingen wat omgetoverd is in een prachtig hotel. Erg vriendelijke en behulpzame bediening. Vlak bij de haven en binnen 5-min bij de boot naar Vlieland of Terschelling.

- Die kleinen Häuser sind im Vergleich zu einem Doppelzimmer sehr geräumig.Für eine Familie mit Kleinkind ist zwar genügend Platz, aber die steile Treppe sollte eine Sicherungsmöglichkeit haben.

Wij waren te vroeg gearriveerd, mevrouw was niet (permanent) aanwezig maar verwees netjes in een briefje waar ze te bereiken was, zowel adres als telefoonnummer.
Toen wij in tweede instantie, na elders wat gedronken te hebben, opnieuw arriveerden lag er een briefje met de verwijzing waarmee we onszelf in ons appartement konden binnenlaten.

- Het is een karakteristiek pand dat mooi is gerenoveerd en ligt op een mooie plek in het centrum.
- Je auto kun je wat moeilijk kwijt soms, maar met een parkeerkaart van het logement is voor eur 2,- per dag redelijk geregeld.
De bedden in de appartementen van het pakhuis waren matig en de slaapbank is absoluut slecht. Een kamer in het pakhuis alleen boeken met 2 personen!

- das Appartement war schon sehr abgewohnt, müßte dringend renoviert werden...die Wände im Untergeschoss waren sehr schmutzig, tote Mücken etc. die Küchenstühle waren sehr speckig und fleckig und die Küchenmöbel ziemlich demoliert.
