Hilversum lies in the Gooi area. The town is also referred to as garden town, because it is surrounded by several nature reserves with beautiful hiking and biking routes. Hilversum is also known as the broadcasting city of the Netherlands. A visit to the Omroepmuseum (broadcasting museum) is therefore truly recommended. Those who like aquatic sports can go to the lakes of recreational area Loosdrechtse plassen.
