Surroundings

The hotel's direct vicinity has plenty to offer both young and old. Sporty guests can head to the ski slope, the bowling centre or the swimming pool. Young guests will certainly enjoy the 'play palace'. Walking and cycling enthusiasts will love the Haarlemmermeerse Bos (the nearby woods) or the Westeinder Plassen (the nearby lake). Culture seekers can visit the Historical Museum Haarlemmermeer or the Cruquius Museum, a great historic pumping station which is now breathing new life into steam technology. Naturally, the Keukenhof in Lisse, the flower auction in Aalsmeer and of course the city of Amsterdam are also well worth a visit.

Food and Drinks

The well-established reputation of the restaurant is certainly justified. The extensive breakfast buffet is served from 06:30 to 10:00 h, and at weekends from 07:30 to 11:00 h. Weather permitting a delightful lunch, including tasty bread rolls with various fillings and fresh salads among other things, can also be ordered on the outdoor terrace. The cosy restaurant has a menu offering a wide variety of specialties. The pleasant hotel bar invites you to try one of the many drinks, and the connoisseur will enjoy selecting one of the 24 varieties of whisky.

Good price
  • + Very comfortable, modern decore and clean. Booked on line and found the price was a lot better then other hotels.
  • Booked this hotel on line from the Amsterdam airport at the last minute. Tried to call the hotel with the number that was listed in order to arrange a pick up shuttle. The phone number didn t work. Had the information desk at the airport call as well and it still didn t work. We never did get through and it cost us around 50 dollars for a cab ride there. Once we got there, we were told the shuttle only runs certain times. Unfortunately it couldn t take us to the airport the next morning eithe

Good overnight option for Schiphol airport
  • + Shuttle (reserved) to and from the airport made this an easy overnight option. Good email communication prior to our stay meant everything was as expected. Welcomed our small terrier also.

  • + This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was easy enough to catch a taxi from the airport. Breakfast was offered at 12 Euro pp and the room was exceptional 4+

  • * my tip Without speaking the local language it was a bit tricky getting train tickets to the city, although the locals were very helpful. Perhaps instructions in Dutch on how to purchase a ticket.

Lovely hotel, nice staff, shame theres no shuttle bus.
  • + Lovely hotel, nice and clean and friendly staff
  • Bed was not very comfortable and location was far from interesting things, far from Amsterdam too.
  • * my tip A shuttle bus to Amsterdam and to the airport would have greatly improved my stay.

Nice and quiet
  • + Friendly and helpful crew.
  • Further away from airport than I tought.
  • * my tip If you are going to Hoofdorp, this hotel is a fine choice. But it's too far away from Amsterdam, and even the airport. You need to go by train, and the ticket-machine at the trainstation is not tourist-friendly at all. The alternative is bus, and it takes really long.

Big disappointment for our last night in Holland!
  • + Convenient to airport
  • Dinner at restaurant totally disappointing. Swordfish dry and tough, service poor, salt and pepper shakers dirty, wine pour was less than we have encountered anywhere!
  • * my tip Try Ibis better value better service food can't be worse.

Reasonable good but not perfect.
  • + clean room and bathroom
  • Only one chair to sit in , so one has to drink a cup of coffee or tea while sitting on the bed. NOt comfortable. No good ligth to read in bed. We were woken up at 9 am. by the vacum cleaner going on loudly right beside our door. Too early for people wanting to sleep in a bit. Could have waited till at elast 10 am. We were given the impression on the website that there would be shuttle ervice to the airport available. But that was not so , we found out too late. That is misleading ad

Wasn't impressed!
  • + Lovely bathroom
  • The hotel looked lovely on the internet, from the outside and in the lobby of the hotel, but the room we were in seemed substandard in comparison to the rest of the hotel. there was a stain on the bedsheet and the furniture was old and chipped. We also didnt like the area the hotel is based in, we stayed for about half an hour and got the train back into the city. The area is very basic and doesnt show a true reflection of the city. Definately not somewhere to go if you want a romantic, relaxing last night!

Choose only if you are looking for a weekend getaway
  • + Spacious room and toilet. Situated in a quiet area. Near a small town
  • Far away from the train station (have to take another bus which comes every half hour), no free internet. Normal breakfast buffet. For the price I paid, I could have gotten a room with breakfast included

Great hotel close to airport, but far from Central Amsterdam
  • + Very close to the Airport. Comfortable rooms and affordable rates.
  • Far ride from Central Amsterdam. Had to take a taxi to the train station and then a 20 minute train ride from there.

about what you would expect, no more, no less
  • + Decent room, clean, and reasonable price
  • Bit hard to get to on public transport. The zuidtangent bus does not stop that near. Suggest train to Hoofddorp station then 140 towards Haarlem, getting off at Market

  • (Travelling alone)
Too expensive for what you get
  • + Restaurant and bar on site, but it was a bit expensive. Close to buses and train.
  • Very expensive, not much to do in the area. The gym didn't open till 9:30 on Sunday, so I couldn't wait to use it. The rooms were OK, but not for the price. Breakfast should be included for the amount of the rooms.

Does not justify a 4* rating
  • + Convenient for airport and city centre. Nearby a shopping centre. Restaurant was reasonable.
  • Lack of basic facilities. Had to buy extra pillows in nearby shopping centre. No tea/coffee making facilities. Service was mediocre. Rooms looking a bit tatty.

Too pricey for what you get.
  • + Comforable beds, helpful staff.
  • Bathroom smelled terrible! Hardly any lights in the bedroom, very noisy, stains on carpets in hallways, out of date decor. Fitness room is not attached to the hotel.

  • (Travelling alone)
no shuttleservice - not recommended
  • no shuttle service as indicated - taxi to Schipol takes long time and costs 27€ each way - so better take a hotel for 150 and closer to airport - no 24h reception - you have to make special arrangements - extra charge for double room, even if not used

  • (Young couples)
  • There is no significant information about to/from Airport. The Reception told me that there is no free shuttle bus until I called in airport. Also told me that the booking website usually told good things about the hotel but I should check the hotel website by myself to know how to go to the hotel.

Good but not best
  • + The day time manager lady was pleasant and helpful.
  • On arrival, the receptionist was not pleasant or helpful. An early check in was requested because we had a long flight from the US. The manager ultimately, and pleasantly, assisted us to our room when one became available. The bath room smelled of old urine. Need washcloths in room. The bar room was not bussed regularly. The tables were dirty. The hot water was difficult to regulate.

Great Place To Stay near Schipol.
  • + I have used de Beurs before and always found it to be a great hotel. The location is good and even with the construction in Hoofddorp it was still a pleasant place to stay.
  • Things that can't be controlled, like construction. It's not so bad but does make the hotel difficult to get to.

Could be a good hotel.
  • + Nice located with a shopping complex near by. Staff is dedicated and professional. Rooms are clean, big and comfortable.

Fairly nice accommodation just outside Amsterdam
  • Guests pay for parking although the hotel has its own carpark. I've stayed at this hotel before. Some rooms are quite nice, others (like the one I stayed in this time) are very poor (just a box with a bed).
