Surroundings

Although Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Amsterdam Airport is only a 15-minute drive away from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, you can still enjoy a haven of peace in the Haarlemmermeerse Bos. Take a lovely stroll through the woods and treat your culinary tastebuds at Papa's Beachhouse, the cosy beach café at the nearby lake.

Food and Drinks

During weekdays you can enjoy an elaborate breakfast buffet from 06:00 - 10:00, and at weekends from 06:30 - 10:30, after which the brasserie opens for lunch and dinner offering you a choice of international specialities. During warm weather it is also possible to be served on the pleasant outdoor terrace. The informal bar is open in the afternoon and evening for guests wishing to relax with a drink and a bite to eat. Major sports events are regularly shown on the large flatscreen television. The Grab & Go shop in the lounge is open 24-hours a day, and offers sandwiches, drinks and toiletries.

Plesent but maybe weekend is not best time as maybe short on staff!
  • + Location was very pleasent close to airport but had a nice country feel allowing me to relax and walk after some heavy travel

Excellent place w.r.t. prices
  • + Outside of the hotel was very good. I mean the beautiful lake and the play ground for kid was excellent. Taking a walk with family in the morning was real relaxation.

  • – We were VERY UNHAPPY the restaurant in the hotel was closed Sun night -- we are elderly with mobility problems & couldn"t go to the restaurant next door. A very willing barman brought us pizzas to our room for dinner, but we would have liked a restaurant in the hotel itself.

My stay at The Courtyard Hoofddorp
  • + The hotel was clean, my room was clean, the check in and check out process was quick and efficient.
  • – The price is too high. The restaurant was very busy with several tables reserved for KLM but no one using them whilst I was forced to sit in the bar and despite arriving before 10.00 pm only being 'allowed' a main course by the staff. Poor management of the situation rather than a fault of the staff!

Anyway 185 for one short night is on the high side. Distance to airport; is more than 10 minutes - as indicated on the web page.

  • + Very clean and modern facility with spacious rooms. Good coffee provided free of charge in the lobby in the morning.
  • – Very inconvenient location. Shuttle to the hotel was free but considering the location, it should also be free to return to the airport. Breakfast and room are both very overpriced. We paid an average of 70 Euros to get to our business location. When we requested taxis that could accept credit cards, twice the drivers said that they could not accept credit cards. My travel companions had a rate of $85 Euros per night but I was charged $159 per night. There should be a less expensive a la carte option for breakfast. Shuttle was over 20 Euros to get to the airport to make alternate public transport.

  • + Large bathrooms, but separate tub seems a waste, it must be a European thing, the space of the tub would have made a better shower. Good decor and hotel feel. Beds good.
