Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam
The 'Beurs van Berlage' (built for the exchange of stocks and shares) was designed by Dutch architect H.P. Berlage and was opened in 1903. The roof structure, which consists of steel and glass was incredibly innovative for that time.
The building has been used as an exchange for commodities, grain and stocks. It is now an exhibition hall, featuring art and architecture exhibitions.
Many conferences and events are also organised in the large halls.
In 2002 the the Beurs van Berlage´s grand hall was even used for the royal wedding of Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima.
You can also visit the Beurs van Berlage Café for a good cup of coffee or a delicious lunch.
