Friday Night Skate in Amsterdam
A popular thing to do in Amsterdam is to join the Friday Night Skate. The route varies every week, but is usually about 20km long and you'll get to see much of Amsterdam during the tour.
For safety reasons, the organisation has arranged for 'traffic blockers' and even a First Aid crew to skate along. You can join the tour every Friday, except for when it's raining, as it's not safe enough to skate when the streets are wet.
These kind of skate tours are also very popular in some other European capitals, for example in Paris along the river Seine. So bring your inline skates, or borrow them and enjoy Amsterdam in a unique and memorable way!
