Vondelpark in Amsterdam
The Vondelpark is situated in the area Amsterdam Oud-Zuid (old-south). The park is cherished by citizens of Amsterdam as well as tourists. Concerts and theatre evenings are organised on a regular basis in the open air theatre. The park was named after the 17th century poet and playwright Joost van den Vondel, a statue of whom is in the park.
