Free things in Amsterdam
Even when you are travelling on a budget, you can still enjoy some interesting sights in Amsterdam.
First of all, you could have a stroll along the canals with all its beautiful merchant's houses. Be sure to also visit the Jordaan district, with its Westertoren (Western Tower)
In this busy city one can also find a green oasis in the Vondelpark or in the garden of the Rijksmuseum.
If you want to mingle with locals, you would like to visit one of the daily markets. One of the busiest markets is the Albert Cuypmarket, where you will be able to come up with a good bargain.

Schuttersgalerij
In a small street between the Kalverstraat and the Begijnhof you will find 15 militia paintings that portray historical 'schuttersgilden' (civic guard guilds) from the 17th century.
