United Europe in Amsterdam
The Roemer Visscherstraat features a special row of houses built in the 19th century in the style of seven European countries: Holland, England, France, Russia, Spain, Germany and Italy.
The row start at number 20, where you find a house in the German architectural style. At number 22 is a house with a French feel. Next to this a Spanish villa with Moorish influences. After that follows an Italian house in a palazzo style. House number 28 is reminiscent of Russia, featuring shapes usually found in a cathedral. After Russia comes Renaissance Holland. The row of houses finally ends at number 30a, an English cottage.
The Roemer Visscherstraat is close to the Vondelpark as well as near the hustle and bustle of the Leidseplein.
