Amsterdam Museum
The Amsterdam Museum is located right in the city centre, adjacent to the Kalverstraat. Through interactive images, sound, movement and specially chosen objects, a visit of less than an hour will teach you about the city of Johan Cruijff, Rembrandt, Ajax, the Red Light District, the United East India Company and marijuana. Capital of the Netherlands, a 1000-year-old commercial city on the water known for entrepreneurship, creativity, citizenship and freedom.
Highlights of the museum's collection include a birds' eye view from the Middle Ages, De Dam by Breitner, an anatomy lesson by Rembrandt and a portrait of Theo van Gogh.
Children aged from 4 to 10 can visit The Little Orphanage. This interactive exhibition enables kids and their parents to see what life must have been like in a 17th-century orphanage.
