Filmmuseum in Amsterdam
The collection of the Filmmuseum consists of thousands of movies, posters, screenplays and documents. These items give a good impression of the complete movie history, from silent movies of the 19th century to modern, digital productions.
You can even travel back in time, in the old projection room with its antique seats.
Every movie fan should visit the Information centre at the Vondelstraat, which houses the largest movie library of the Netherlands.
Regular exhibitions and themed programs show the various aspects of movie history. The Filmmuseum also distributes classic and modern movies to Dutch movie theatres.
The Filmmuseum is now located in a beautiful building at the Vondelpark, but in 2009 it will move into a new location in the Northern district of Amsterdam. This new building will house both the museum and the Informatiecentrum.
