Houseboat museum in Amsterdam
Would you like to experience what it feels like to live on a houseboat? Then why not visit this unique museum? It used to be a completely different way of living, but now houseboats are usually equipped with all modern appliances.
This cargo-boat was built in 1904, and was turned into a museum in 1997. The captain used to live on this boat with his family. The deck-house has been kept in its original state.
What used to be the cargo space is now a surprisingly comfortable living room, where you will immediately feel at home. The museum boat houses an exhibition space, where the many pictures, a slideshow and models of other boats all give a good impression of life on board.
