Purse Museum Hendrikje in Amsterdam
The unique Purse Museum Hendrikje displays the history of the lady's handbag in western culture from the late medieval period up to today. A large part of the more than two thousand purses and accessories are presented and show a great variety of shapes, materials and decorations, which were fashionable over the centuries. The museum also regularly shows work by contemporary purse designers. A large selection of exclusive purses designed by Dutch designers are for sale in the museum shop.
