Purse Museum Hendrikje in Amsterdam
The unique Purse Museum Hendrikje shows the history of the lady's handbag in the western culture from the late Middle Ages up to today. A large part of the more than two thousand purses and accessories are presented and show the great variety of shapes, materials and decorations that were fashionable over the centuries. The museum also regularly shows work by contemporary purse-designers. In the museum shop a large selection of exclusive purses designed by Dutch designers are for sale.
