Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam
The original building of the Stedelijk Museum at the Paulus Potterstraat is currently being renovated. This is expected to take until the end of 2008.
Until that time the museum has found a temporary exhibition room in the Post CS building, near Amsterdam Centraal Station. At the second and third floor of this former post office, you can visit their expositions.
The Stedelijk Museum is considered to be one of the most important museums for modern art in Europe. Their renowned collection includes works of Piet Mondriaan, Monet, Picasso and Cézanne. It is also known for its controversial exhibitions by younger artists. From 2008 you can again admire the highlights of their collection when the museum moves back to its original building.
The Stedelijk Museum is temporarily closed, it is being renovated and expanded. The reopening of the Stedelijk is not expected before December 2010. The exact date or time is not yet known,
