Theo Thijssen Museum Amsterdam
Theo Thijssen (1879-1943) was a socialist and an enthusiastic labor unionist and politician who also wrote stories about his youth in the Jordaan quarter. The Jordaan plays a prominent role in many of his novels. His birthplace now houses the Theo Thijssen Museum, which is located on the ground floor. Its collection comprises of manuscripts, first editions, photos, drawings and the writer's personal possessions. His statue can be seen in front of Café Thijssen on the Brouwersgracht.
