Luxembourg
Many visit the province of Luxembourg only in transit to France. However, this Walloon province has a lot to offer. Belgian Luxembourg offers beautiful nature and historic towns. The most well-known area in southern Belgium is the Ardennes and most of this region lies in the province of Luxembourg. In the vicinity you can always practise sports such as canoeing, mountain biking, climbing and even skiing and cross-country skiing in winter.
For an historical outing you can visit Arlon, one of the oldest cities in Belgium. By car you'll reach the capital of the neighbouring country Luxembourg quickly, where you can marvel at the remnants of the old fortifications and the B.M.V. Cathedral. Also nearby are the cities Bastogne, well-known for its role in the Second World War and the Battle of the Bulge, and Saint Hubert with its magnificent basilica. A tad longer drive will take you to interesting places such as La Roche, Durbuy and Liège.
