Bruges
The Flemish city of art Bruges is a very charming city. It has a wonderful medieval centre that you can explore by walking through the winding alleyways or by taking a boat trip on the romantic canals. Certainly worth looking at is the Grand Place with its beautiful neo-Gothic buildings. The local population is renowned for its exuberant character and in Bruges you can certainly eat and drink very well. There are numerous cosy restaurants and cafes where you can taste a nice Belgian beer or regional cuisine. And the city also offers plenty of good hotels.
In Bruges you can enjoy the rich culture in museums that display the city so well: from archaeological finds and Flemish Primitives to contemporary art, and from the Choco-Story to the Diamond Museum and Lace centre. The Bruges shopping streets attract many visitors as well. In the centre of Bruges are some beautiful city parks like the Minnewaterpark and King Albert park. The modern dolphinarium Boudewijn Seapark is also worth seeing.
