De Burg in Brugge
De Burg, one of the two main squares of Bruges, lies in the historical heart of the city. From the 14th century town hall, one of the oldest of the Netherlands and Belgium, the city of Bruges has been governed for over 600 years.
De Burg is a majestic square and former citadel which used to have gateways and ramparts. The current square is more than a hectare and is surrounded by several historic buildings, including the former House of the Liberty of Bruges, the town hall and the Holy Blood Basilic. Regularly, various performances are held on De Burg.
