Atomium
If you see the futuristic design of the Atomium for the first time, you would probably not expect that is was built in 1958 for the World Fair of Brussels. The Atomium was designed by the engineer Waterkeyn, and it represents an elementary iron crystal that was enlarged 165 billion times.
The nine spheres of the construction are used as exhibition space, a restaurant, a bar and there is a Children's sphere. Visit the permanent exhibition Expo 58, with 27 models that represent the pavilions of the 1958 World Expo, combined with photos, documents and videos from the era.
