Flemish Coast
Pleasant cafés and terraces, enjoying fresh sea air on a sandy beach... It is understandable that the Belgian coast is such a popular year round destination. The Belgian North Sea coast is 67 kilometre long. In every season you can walk for miles on the wide sandy beaches and boulevards. With the sea so close by, many restaurants and bars have delicious seafood dishes on their menu. In the seaside towns is enough to see and do for young and old. Blankenberge and Ostend are known for their good night life, while Wenduine and Middelkerke are perfect for families with children.
Blankenberge is one of the most popular resorts with a long sandy beach and promenade, great shopping and a bustling harbour. In Ostend you can enjoy a day at the beach or stroll along the Fishermen’s Quay. Knokke-Heist has beautiful sandy beaches, a promenade lined with cafés and restaurants and many art galleries and fashionable shops. De Panne is the seaside town closest to France and this is where the Belgian beach is at its widest. What all the seaside towns have in common is that they are perfect for a weekend break or short holiday.
