Old Market in Leuven
The Oude Markt – meaning old market – is a rectangular square in the centre of Leuven, which is surrounded by beautiful façades. It lies next to another popular square, the Grote Markt - or Grand Place - of Leuven.
However, the main attraction of the square are the many cafes and bars. Therefore the square is very polular among students. The Oude Markt is sometimes even referred to as 'the longest bar in Europe' and Leuven is named 'Beer capital of Belgium'.
