James Ensor House
In the former home of the painter James Ensor on the Vlaanderenstraat in Ostend are glass cases filled with bizarre objects. The Blauwe Salon, his studio where he spent over 30 years working on his paintings, is fully preserved. In the salon is a reproduction of his famous work ‘The Entry of Christ into Brussels’, the original painting is in the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. James Ensor is known as an innovator of Belgian painting and precursor of expressionism.
