Giethoorn (Little Venice)
Giethoorn is also called little Venice. It is located in the the north of Overijssel, in the nature area De Wieden. It is only an hour’s drive from the Randstad (the urban agglomeration of Western Holland). The beautiful canal village has many characteristic bridges and plank bridges, old houses and farms. Many people have experienced Giethoorn’s charm in summer but it is also a wonderful place to visit in autumn and winter.
