Bonnefantenmuseum Maastricht
The Italian architect Aldo Rossi designed this unique building located on the river Maas in the trendy Céramique area. The museum houses two collections.
Highlights in the old masters collection include paintings from Flemish masters such as Rubens, Jordaens and Van Dyck, as well as beautiful medieval sculptures such as those of Jan van Steffeswert. In the contemporary art collection the emphasis lies on contemporary painting and room-filling installations from artists such as LeWitt, Serra, Haagmans, Tuymans, Doig, AVL and West.
