Oude Luxor Theater Rotterdam
The Oude Luxor Theater at the Kruiskade opened its doors in 1917 and is the oldest theatre in Rotterdam. Despite the opening of the Nieuwe Luxor Theater in 2001, the Old Luxor theatre remains open to the public. In March 2005 the theatre closed its doors, but as the City of Rotterdam could not decide on a new location, the theatre was reopened in March 2006, following a structural renovation.
The Luxor was originally built as a movie theatre, but after World War II it was also used for theatre and variety shows. The theatre still offers a versatile programme. As well as screenings you can currently also enjoy cabaret, opera and musicals.
