Mauritshuis in The Hague
The Mauritshuis, the royal cabinet of paintings, houses a worldfamous art collection. The heart of the collection is formed by 17th century Dutch paintings from the Dutch Golden Age. There are masterpieces by Vermeer, Rembrandt, Jan Steen and Frans Hals. The museum's collection also offers a good overview of both Dutch and Flemish paintings between 1400 - 1800. For over 200 years this special collection has been housed in the Mauritshuis, a beautiful 17th century palace along the Hofvijver lake in The Hague.
