+ Position

- Very very bad higene, we found a mouse in the room, they didn' t change our room, and it was the smallest triple room i' ve ever seen. Go to an hostel and you' ll spend less and have much more.

+ das Hotel liegt zwischen centralstation und dam, was für den besuch des zentrums der holländischen hauptstadt ausgezeichnet ist.

- alles ist schmutzig(dusche wc zimmer) die matratze ist durchgelegen. nach zwei nächten freuten wir uns wieder, zuhause ohne beschwerden und erholt/entspannt aufzuwachen. zudem war das fenster kaputt und liess sich nicht richtig schliessen. dank gutem schlaf(viel betrieb ums hotel) und noch nicht allzu eisigen themperaturen haben wir auch das überlebt. Fazit: Überteuert und qualitativ sehr schlecht!

- geen Nederlands pratende hotelbediende ('s avonds) kamer heel erg klein gordijnen niet fatsoenlijk aan haakjes op rail 's nachts ontzettend veel kabaal van mede hotelmensen die dronken bij elkaar op de deur bonzen.

- When I went it was a building site and very noisy due to decorators, the showers where full of building muck and materials. At night its noisy until about 3am due to being close to red light district. The rooms are small and beds even smaller. Finally, Yes, the comment about mouse traps in the rooms (even on second floor) are true.

+ We stay in Hotel Continental every time we visit Amsterdam because of its perfect location (5 minutes walk from train station and surrounded with bars, coffeeshops and restaurants) and its friendly and helpful people.

- It's definitely not a luxury place, so expecting the comfort of your home would not be meaningful. However, it's not very cheap either so there are some problems to be solved. Mainly, the building (loose stairway, the smell coming from toilets and the uneasy beds in some rooms) should be renovated.

+ Vlakbij station en het stadsleven.

- Geen eigen douche en toilet. Erg lawaaierig. De kaart van de kamer werd vroegtijdig geblokkeerd en daarna nóg een keer geblokkeerd. Vond ik erg slecht!!! Het raam kon niet vastgezet worden als het open was.

+ Sorry maar kan hier geen punten opnoemen.

- Kwaliteit van het hotel is zwaar beledigend de trap naar boven zitten treden los De vloer in onze kamer bestond 1 en al uit vet we hadden een kamer geboekt met douche en wc achteraf bleek dat we de toilet moesten delen met de rest van de verdieping en de ramen waar zwaar beschadigd en het hele hotel rook naar eten. Ook waren de kosten te hoog als je nagaat in wat voor kamer je komt lampen deden het niet slang van de fohn was los en kraan bij bij de wasbak zat ook los wij waren daarom niet tevreden met de kwaliteit van dit hotel en zou ook niemand aanraden dit hotel te nemen want ookal heb je gedoucht je voelt je nog vies door alle omstandigheden.

+ Fantastic location, right near central station. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Rooms were really clean, though did smell quite strongly of bleach, double bed was very comfortable though a little on the small side. For the price, can't complain!

- Bed was a little small but other than that it was good value for the little we payed!

+ We konden iets eerder dan gepland inchecken, wel prettig aangezien we ongeveer drie kwartier te vroeg arriveerden. Locatie is prima in een zijstraat van het damrak en het verlengde van de kalverstraat. Handdoekwissel netjes op tijd, bedlinnen ook schoon.

- Kamer was erg onhygienisch, vloer was niet egaal, geen afstandsbediening bij de tv, ZEER klein bed voor twee personen (lees ongeveer 120 breed). Douche had geen scherm aan de kant van de douchekop waardoor de hele doucheruimte nat werd, raamkozijn kapot, dus niet goed te sluiten. Vies dekbed in de kast met bloedvlekken. rotte deurkozijnen.

+ De locatie is prima, midden in het centrum.

- Op zich bij binnenkomst leek de kamer heel netjes. Bij het open doen van de deur rook de kamer heel fris. Inrichting van de hotelkamer is heel simpel en op zich was ik daar wel tevreden mee. Alleen in de avond hoorde ik rare geluiden en heb 4 muizen voorbij zien komen. Deze smerige muizen zijn ook de hele nacht aanwezig geweest op de kamer. Receptie is ook niet bepaald vriendelijk. Wanneer het nacht is zijn de kamers ongelovelijk gehorig en hangt er ineens een wietlucht in de kamer, Gelukkig bracht ik hier maar 1 nacht door, want hier wil je echt niet je vakantie doorbrengen!

+ Het hotel ligt vlakbij het centrum. De prijs is prima. Voor enkel een overnachting zeker aan te raden.

- Het is erg gehorig. We hoorden de mensen in de kamer naast ons praten.

- can be very loud during the night as it is right on the main street. One of the guys behind the desk was a little rude. U pay for what you get, It was one of the cheaper options and the location was perfect for us, u just have to put up with the noise from the street.

+ Center of town. Main public transport just few steps away.

- The room has no fan or aircond. It was hot during my stay (summer). No place for shower!! just a toilet to share with others. The worse hotel I ever stay during my 7 days tour in Europe. To make it worse, the price is among the highest

+ The location was great as the hotel is really close to the central station and you can walk straight into the red light district from the hotel. The staff was really nice and housekeeping was good. We stayed in an ensuite room and the bath was really nice and big (compared to other budget hotels where I've often experienced problems with the water and space in general).

+ It's evident this hotel central location is it's most relevant point.

- Concernig other aspects, we think that rooms shortage in Amsterdam is the reason why they don't improve their premises. As results of this it is uncomfotable, noisy and a with a quite rude staff who even banged at our room door at 9h00 intending us to leave for cleaning rooms, when chek-in time is 15h00. Eve we had to leave (how to sleep, then) they didn't clean the rooms or replace paper, towels, etc. One of the most upsetting things was paying an extra 5% in case of paying with credit card. This only happened to us in the Netherlands, nowhere else along our frequent travels.

+ Right in the centre - on the main road the Damrak I think.

- Window didn't close properly and was single-glazed, so with the traffic noise outside (Amsterdam main street) it was not quiet for sleeping. Also the mattress was far too soft, and I woke up in the morning with a stiff neck.

+ The location is really wonderful. You are right on Damrak, and close to everything. The rooms are OK, and the staff are fiendly and helpful in geneal.

- Walls are too thin (especially on the 4th floor). And, altough I beliee it was a mistake, the cleaning guy directly entered to our room at 10:00 a.m. (checkout time)while we were still in the bed. So, lock the door while you're sleeping. It's not to say the hotel is not safe, but they have to be careful about boundaries. These were the only minor problems we had there.

- our room was on the fourth floor which had no lift and the stairs were very steep, but to be fair in amsterdam all the stairs are steep. All in all you get wot you pay for dont go expecting the Ritz.

+ Het hotel ligt erg centraal ideaal voor toeristen, en 24 uur per dag kan je in en uit lopen altijd iemand aan de desk.

- Vond de kamers slecht geisoleerd ben er ziek van geworden zo hebben we op de tocht gelegen.
