+ Never seen such a small and poor rooms (5/6 smq!!) in my file. We have been forced to change hotel after the first night. Much better hotel at a lower price. Just a disaster! Excellent location but very poor hotel. I do not even know if such a small rooms are legal.

+ Aanrader ! Het hotel ligt werkelijk op een toplokatie, rustig en toch overal dichtbij! Het balie personeel is erg vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam. Het ontbijt was niet luxe maar vers en goed verzorgd. Betaalbare minibar.

- Het vierde bed (kamer 16) was wel erg hard. De overige bedden zijn prima! De hotelprijzen in A'dam zijn belachelijk. Hotel Hestia behoort tot de voordeligste maar ook hier is de kamerprijs (te) hoog.

+ Ruime 3-persoons kamer, vriendelijk personeel, eenvoudig maar goed ontbijt. Geweldige locatie in een rustige omgeving, op loopafstand van het uitgaanscentrum. Vlakbij het Vondelpark en het Leidseplein. Ideaal voor mensen die verschillende musea van Amsterdam willen bezoeken.

- Er is geen mogelijkheid om koffie of thee te drinken in het hotel. Bad/douche-kraan was slecht op temperatuur te krijgen. De temperatuur varieerde van koud tot zeer warm.

+ All staff very friendly and always willing to help. Single room was quite small but very clean. Pleasant breakfast area with decent food selection.

- Some guests were very noisy till 3am but that can happen anywhere and was not the hotel's fault. Luggage can be left at reception but it is not stored properly and is just left in the foyer which is not very secure.

+ Friendliness. Helpful. real close to humdrum but not humdrum itself. nice restful contrast to the nearby Leidsplein, etc. right on the park, too. Lobby and eating area are very clean.

- Must be ultra-quiet inside the hotel. My room was somewhat dusty when I arrived. Not a real big deal, but the desk-fan blades were quite dirty, so I took it apart and cleaned it.

+ Leuk hotel, mooie grote driepersoonskamer. Ontspannen sfeer, vriendelijk personeel. Het balkon heeft uitkijk op een tuin waar parkieten rondvliegen. Een fijn bad en een fijn bed. Betaalbare minibar. Geen broodjes voor het ontbijt maar een buffet met genoeg keuze. Boterhammen, crackers een eitje etc. Gezellig, relaxed en comfortabel. Zeker een hotel om nog een keer terug te komen!

+ Very!! frindly, helpfull and loveable staff. Nice familiy atmosphere. Clean. God location, quit but still in walking distance to city center, to a big park and grosery shopping etc. God breakfast. We would stay there again!! Room nr 15 is big and has a large balkon towards the garden side. We stayed there with a baby and the let us use the kitchen for babyfood etc at all times of the day, let us take the babypram up in the room etc., only asking if they could help more.

- Small lift and narrow stairs -but thats the way it is in Amsterdam, and part of the charm :-) The bathtub is a bit used, but you can just use the shower, with was good.(In general we think the price vs. quality is high in Amsterdam) No minus points from us.

+ Die Nähe zum Zentrum

- Das "kleine" Zimmer mit der Zimmernummer 37 ist als "Doppelzimmer!" eine Zumutung. Auch wenn bereits auf der Homepage auf ein kleines Zimmer hingewiesen wird, kann man sich nicht vorstellen, dass man seinen Koffer tatsächlich nur auf dem Bett öffnen kann. Als Einzelzimmer mit schmalerem Bett könnte man sich darin vielleicht noch bewegen. Die im Zimmer befindliche aufklappbare Kofferablage kann man gar nicht nutzen, weil selbst dazu der Platz fehlt. Als Doppelzimmer für 2 Personen ist es ganz und gar nicht empfehlenswert!!

+ - Gute Lage direkt an der alten Stadt (Leidseplein), trotzdem ruhig (ich hatte ein Zimmer nach hinten zum Vondelpark raus). - Fußläufig nah am Museumsviertel - Supermarkt in der Nähe (wurde mir direkt bei Ankunft ohne Nachfrage genannt) - Mehrere Tramhaltestellen in der Nähe - Frühstück zu urlaubsfreundlichen Zeiten (7:30-10:30) - Gute Touristenkarte mit Tram- und Buslinien kostenfrei im Hotel erhältlich

- - Zimmergröße gerade so eben ausreichend, um sich umzudrehen :), ist aber ok, mehr als zum Schlafen war ich eh nicht im Hotel - Bad bedarf einer Renovierung

+ Die zentrale Lage. Der relativ günstige Preis. Das Zimmer ist absolut okay.

- Die hohen Parkgebühren. Das dürftige Frühstück - um 8.20 Uhr gab es keine gekochten Eier mehr. Das Hotel ist sehr hellhörig Die in der Beschreibung zugesagte Minibar fehlte. Batterien für die Fernseher-Bedienung erst nach Reklamation.

Anoniem Het "thuisgevoel" werd opgeroepen.

+ I have now been to amsterdam three times and this was by far the best hotel i have stayed in. its not that the others were bad, it is because this just has a realy nice feel about the place. The location is perfect if you want to be leidseplein side of town, which is by far the best side to be (plenty going on).i stayed in a triple room with 2 friends, the room was perfect, plenty of space, clean bathroom and plenty of room for clothes etc. the staff were excellent, willing to immidiately sort anything out, like get you a plate, help with directions etc. i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Thankyou to the staff at hotel hestia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

+ Geweldige locatie in een stil straatje tussen Leidseplein en Vondelpark in. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Redelijke prijs.

- Kleine kamer. Was weliswaar éénpersoonskamer maar dan nog kunnen een paar extra meters geen kwaad. De gangen en de eetzaal zouden wel een likje verf en wat nieuwe posters kunnen gebruiken.

+ nice quality hotel, even had a lift so you dont have to walk up and down loads of steep stairs. very easy to get trams to red light area and station.

- not really the part of amsterdam i normally do stuff in, but was perfect for this night as i was going to an event over the road,

- Internet wireless is not free. At this time and age internet connection should not be charged anymore. What will be charged next, toilet paper? An average of 90 Euros per night is too high: 75 would be the ideal price.

+ Excellent location, beautiful large room w terrace and adequate bathroom. Good service. Nice breakfast included. Safe and clean. Close to museums and Leidesplein, about a mile walk to old city center which is doable.

- Small elevator; not inexpensive, but not overly expensive either.

+ Lage, direkt neben dem Stadtzentrum, aber sehr ruhig und sauber. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel nur 3 min. zu Fuß. Schöner Park in direkter Näher. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten - 5 min. zu Fuß. Schönes Gebäude von Außen.

- Die Einrichtung in Zimmern schon lange nicht mehr frisch. Möbel teilweise kaputt. Bad sehr sparsam eingerichtet.. Badetücher ziemlich alt und abgenutzt. Zimmer nicht besonders gemütlich.
