Description
Hotel Eikenhof Knesselare has some Arab influences. The lounge is furnished with low original Tunisian couches and beautiful coloured rugs on the floor. The bar is modelled on the Far East and offers several authentic Arab beverages. Outside is a beautiful garden with fountains, here is the terrace where guests can enjoy drinks until late into the night.
The rooms with decorative pillows and bedding also feel Arab. The rooms have beautiful bathrooms with a shower and toilet, some rooms have a massage shower. Furthermore the rooms feature a sitting area and television. By bicycle or on foot, Meetjesland offers a variety of walking and cycling routes, for example through the beautiful woodland Leen. This area has more than 1,000 different species of plants and fungi and over 1,200 animal species. In nearby Maldegem you can visit the curious 50 years old Maria Grotto, a pilgrimage site built from the remnants of the war airports Ursel and Adegem.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is prepared each day between 07:00 and 09:00 h. in the breakfast room of the hotel. On weekends and holidays breakfast is served between 08:00 and 10:00 h.
The restaurant is open between 11:00 and 20:30 h. The cuisine is traditional European and you can choose from several Italian dishes. All dishes are well prepared and quickly served with a friendly smile. In the special Tunisian atmosphere of Bar Cafe Nafoura you can enjoy the specialties between 08:00 and 22:00. You can come here for a good strong coffee or a delicious lunch.
You can also dine here, perhaps preceded by an authentic Tunisian tea or Arabic coffee. Extra special is that you can smoke a water pipe here, with tobacco from fruits like peaches and apricots. The original Tunisian drink Boucha is also served here. You can take place outside on the terrace around the fountains which completes the atmosphere of 1000 and 1 nights.

Those who want to shop can visit the Dutch town of Sluis which is only 30 kilometres away. On Sunday, this beautiful medieval fortified town is frequented by shoppers and culture lovers.
