Description
The name of Hotel Damier was regularly changed over the centuries. Already in the 17th century, one finds the name De Daemberd and the name 'Hotel Damier' was first mentioned at the end of the 18th century. The Daemberd Barlounge is a listed national monument. It is one of the last remaining examples of what bars and inns used to look like in the Flemish provinces.
The boutique hotel is built around a courtyard. It is also a business hotel, but the interior is anything but cold and stiff. Behind the elegant rococo façade lies a lush interior. Each room has its own character with a refined interior. The magnificent rococo façade has remained unchanged since its construction in 1769 and is one of the finest architectural treasures of the city. The railway station lies within a 2 minute walk from the hotel.
