Restaurant & Bar Van Buren in the hotel is also a perfect spot to enjoy a savoury lunch or dinner. Here you can also order a nice cup of coffee or a good glass of wine. The dishes on the menu are inspired by French and Dutch cuisine, with the occasional Frysian touch. The menu is changed every two months.

The historic city centre of Leeuwarden is within walking distance of the Oranje Hotel Leeuwarden - Hampshire Eden. For a nice view of the city you can climb the 40 metres high 'Oldehove' tower in summer. Because of the soft soil this tower is slightly slanted and is called the Frisian 'Tower of Pisa'. Parts of the old city walls and moats are monumental, as are various residences, churches and even parks. In the centre of Leeuwarden there are many cafés and other venues for a night on the town. A fun way of exploring the surroundings is by taking a boat tour: there are many places where you can rent a boat.
