Furthermore, the first Dutch tulips were cultivated in Leiden 400 years ago, providing the city with its alias 'City of Discovery'.

The hotel is established within three listed buildings that have been fully renovated. The hotel rooms are spread across four floors. Leiden is a splendid city to explore as a tourist, but business guests are of course also very welcome. The hotel accordingly offers suitable conference facilities.

The hotel has Comfort and Superior Rooms. All rooms are comfortable and modernly furnished with a double bed, a safe, a telephone, a television and a radio. Each room also comes with a shower and a toilet. The Superior Rooms are spacious and feature a sitting area.

Will not stay here again.
  • + Well situated in Leiden with easy walking access to the city.
  • No free parking nearby and very few paid spots. Hotel does not feel like part of a major chain. The room we had was cramped because the two beds were 6 inches from the wall where there was a beam keeping them from being pushed back further. All plugs were out when we got into the room and the heat had not been turned on. The window overlooked a small enclosed balcony that was ugly and blocked any view of the outside street. The shower head was so high on the wall that I could not adjust it.
  • * my tip Don't come with a car.

Good, fairly priced hotel in Leiden city center.
  • + Good location; convenient access to the city center and the university, as well as restaurants.
  • Club on ground floor on the weekend was unappreiated; too noisy to be in a hotel.

Reasonable room with space for kids
  • + The family room was great for us, since it had two bedrooms. We have three small kids, so two shared the king-sized bed, and one slept in a travel bed that we brought. The location is perfect -- walking distance to the train station and downtown Leiden.
  • On-street parking only, which is 12 Euro/day and sometimes tricky to find. The hotel is pretty bare-bones, with a fairly depressing lobby, if you want to call it that, and breakfast room. It is perfect if you don't need all the bells and whistles, just a clean, safe place to stay.

A special athmosphere
  • + huge windows, special athmosphere, wooden floors, very friendly staff
  • seemed quite provisional, I guess because opened just recently. For example, wardrobe had doors that were not easy to open (bad quality?). The cooler in the breakfast room was humming to loudly.

TOP LOCATION HOWEVER FOR WORST SERVICE!
  • + It's relatively affordable price in comparison to other hotels in the city and location.
  • The worst service ever experienced. Not sure, however whether it is the management or the staff to be blamed.

Great Choice!
  • + This was a wonderful choice. The rooms are spacious and bright. Everything is newly renovated and tasteful. The staff is excellent. Lieden is a great alternative to Amsterdam. It is so close by train to both Schipol and central Amsterdam but it has the charm of a smaller city.

Cheap but very basic. Fine for 1 night as a lone traveller.
  • + Very reasonable price for the location. Helpful and friendly staff. Absolutely fine for one night's accommodation if you are travelling alone.
  • Hotel not yet complete - rooms were very basic. Lighting in the bathroom is awful and the whole floor gets soaked when showering. The layout of the room was very strange - powerpoints nowhere near mirror (the first room I was in did not have a mirror at all, the second had a very thin mirror - not ideal for a woman), the TV was in a very awkward place on the wall which gave me neck ache (in the first room the TV was on the wall above top end of the bed, rather than the foot end - very weird!!).

Disappointing
  • On opening the curtains we looked directly into the scout meeting room... in fact somebody waved to us. This is not acceptable for a superior room. The TV was behind the bed and could not be seen. There were no controls on the radiator and it was too hot. We kept the window open all night, what a waste. The socket for the kettle did not work. We had to stand on the bed holding the kettle up high. After this we found there was no creamer for the tea and coffee. There was no hairdryer. The safe was not attached to anything - it could be picked up and carried away, especially as the door to the street was wide open. Anybody could have come in. The details on hotels.nl quoted a jacuzzi. The shower was nice but there was no jacuzzi. We booked the room for a kingsize bed, but room 205 had a pole in the middle of the beds! In room 203 there was no space to move around the bed. The general standard of workmanship and finishing off were simply not good enough, for example the window latch was loose.

Do not stay here as it is not finished and it is above a night club.
  • + The hotel staff NOT the owner, were very helpful and apologetic about all the problems - there were LOTS of problems. The manager in particular was extremely helpful and professional in dealing with the problems.
  • The hotel was not finished but we were told that the owner had insisted on opening it and letting guests stay in a building site. There were wires hanging out of sockets, taped up cables and cracked window panes with their 'new' stickers still on. A fire alarm went off at 12.30am due to people smoking in the club. A nightclub was situated within the hotel under the rooms with thumping bass until 4am which I could even hear through earplugs on the 4th floor and shook the wardrobes and
