Hotel Holiday Inn Leiden is located near the A44 motorway between The Hague and Amsterdam and is less than 10 kilometres from Katwijk beach. The hotel is very suitable for children. They can have a great time in the swimming pool or the Jungle club, which has, among other things, a climbing frame, ball pool and Playstation. And adults are also catered for as they can make free use of the sauna. As an extra service, the hotel offers a free shuttle bus taking guests to and from Leiden Central station during mornings and evenings on working days. The shuttle bus does not run during national holidays.
The comfortable family rooms are furnished with two double beds and are suitable for two adults and two children up to 12 years old. An additional charge applies for a third or fourth adult. Surroundings
In the spring, you can admire the flowering tulip bulbs in de Keukenhof in Lisse, which is easy to get to from the hotel. And of course during the summertime the beaches at Katwijk or Noordwijk aan Zee are also very inviting. The town of Leiden has lovely shops and beautiful historic buildings. Leiden is also the birthplace of the world famous 17th century painter, Rembrandt van Rijn. The Stedelijk Museum de Lakenhal offers a valuable insight into Leiden's eventful history.
Food and Drinks
A very extensive breakfast buffet is available on weekdays from 6:30 to 10:00 and at weekends from 07:00 to 11:00. On request and at an additional charge, room service will bring a continental breakfast to your room.
Dinner is served on weekdays from 18:00 to 21:30. Guests may enjoy the Holidome Family Buffet at weekends between 16:00 and 21:00, where a nanny will be available to entertain the children.
An extensive Italian buffet is set up every Friday between 18:00 and 21:30.

- There are tons of mirrors in the bathroom, but none in the room, so that it wasn't an option to put on make up while someone is using the bathroom.
I also would have liked a socket in the bathroom. Now it was just for shaving, so I couldn't use my hair straightner.
- Bar was rather expensive
- Interior is old-fashioned and tasteless, especially in the dining area...
*my tipI recommend 'Malle Jan' in the city centre. Cosy, friendly and incredible food.

seemed to be no way to tell cleaning staff that I did not want to be disturbed before 11.45am on checkout day -- even though I answered the door once I then came back after breakfast and found one of them going through my room cleaning it up --- there should be a system ('do not disturbs') that prevents this - it is annoying for both parties.
Also there must be a better way to/from the center than following the main road -- I had to walk through long wet grass and/or run across highways at one point.

It was very busy with families, so obviously this is a good package - would have been nicer if it would have been quieter, but I guess the one implements the other. Obviously this impacts service at dinner also. Our order was forgotten. Then again - fair price!
