Hotel Holiday Inn Leiden is located near the A44 motorway between The Hague and Amsterdam and is less than 10 kilometres from the beach of Katwijk. The hotel is very suitable for a stay with children. They can go on a spree in the indoor swimming pool or the Jungle Club, with a climbing frame, 'ball bath' and Playstation, among other things. But the adults are also catered for. They can use the sauna free of charge. At a reduced rate they can also use the Racket Centre with five tennis courts (indoor and outdoor), four squash courts and a fitness room. The hotel also offers a shuttle service, which takes guests to and from the central station of Leiden in the morning and evening.

The comfortable family rooms are furnished with two double beds and are suitable for two adults and two children up to 12 years old. An additional charge applies for a third or fourth adult. Furthermore, the rooms are provided with a bath and shower, toilet, hair dryer, air conditioning, television, telephone, coffee and tea making facilities, minibar, and safe. The hotel offers a choice of five kinds of pillows.

Food and Drinks

The very extensive breakfast buffet is set up on weekdays from 06:30 to 10:00 h. and on weekends from 07:00 to 11:00 h. On request, the room service will bring a continental breakfast to the room (at an additional charge).
Dinner is served on weekdays from 18:00 to 21:30 h. Guests may enjoy the Holidome Family Buffet on weekends between 16:00 and 21:00. A nanny will be there to entertain the children.
An extensive italian buffet will be set up every Friday between 18:00 and 21:30.
The Ocean Bar is the ideal spot to have a nice drink or cocktail, and enjoy the snack buffet that is set up every weekday between 17:00 and 19:00 h. for the guests. The bar is also open until midnight for an informal dinner.

Several rooms are equipped with an Internet computer and wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel. Both services can be used at an additional charge.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was adequate and comfortable. Overall the hotel was clean and in good order with some nice decorative features.

A bit pricey for what it was and a little out of the way. Not much atmosphere and the spaces were too large. It felt empty dispite the number of people there.

Very good package

Very good value for money. Very good breakfast buffet included in the package. It was very busy with families, so obviously this is a good package - would have been nicer if it would have been quieter, but I guess the one implements the other. Obviously this impacts service at dinner also. Our order was forgotten. Then again - fair price!

An industrial estate is not an ideal location for any family outing. Therefore a 4. Change room for the pool is far to cramped for the size of the pool (and the amount of people present).

Nice rooms very well designed and well equipped

Noise from the atrium 9am to 9pm is unbelievable. Buffet meals with no service at Euro 30 to 32 are extremely expensive - in Brussels we paid Euros 25 for full service 4-star hotel restaurant of far better quality. Children under 12 halve the price to Euros 15, about what they are worth.

Nice, clean, comfortable rooms, awesome breakfast, beautiful atrium area, free parking, within driving distance of Keukenhof and the beaches, downtown Leiden is within driving distance and looks like it has good night life and restaurant selection. Children and pet friendly =)

Dinner prices are extremely high. We could not find any other restaurants or facilities within walking distance. Parking in downtown Leiden is an issue. Front desk staff were cordial but not friendly or welcoming. Fitness room only open limited hours.

The free shuttle to the train station. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The play area was nice with an assortment of different activities for various ages. The layout of the rooms was very nice. Knowledgable, friendly and helpful staff. It was a wonderful experience at the hotel.

We did not know about the shuttle to the hotel until after we arrived. I cannot remember seeing it on the website, though I could have overlooked it.

The hotel facilities were ideally suited to our holiday get-together of 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 3 children of 3, 12 and 13 who were given adjacent rooms. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the Dec 26 entertainment which we watched from overhead was very impressive. Breakfast in the Garden Restaurant is always first rate and the staff there and at the front desk were always most helpful.

Has a lot of facilities which makes it good value. Service and food in Bar is Excellent. I would reccomend this for families or those wanting to relax for weekend and stay within hotel.

At busy times the main eating area is too crowded. A little pricy for drinks. Buffet food quality not always good. Room privacy not good as everyone gets a big window where people can walk in front of.

The hotel is well kept, clean and provides good facilities for business. Reception staff were excellent and polite, the payment and room allocation went very smoothly. Food is generally very good, although as an Englishman who likes his fried breakfast i found this type of food to be fairly poor, having said that you have many other options to chose from, which i did.

However the service was not absolutely what i would have liked/expected. You provide bells at the tables in the comfortable lounge area but we were never attended when we used it.

Amazing breakfast buffet in beautiful indoor garden- our lads loved the pond with the terrapins. The swimming pool was a great bonus, and we appreciated the availability of bikes to hire. The hotel is a very pleasant and easy 5 mile ride to a great beach.

Bitterly disappointed that the squash and indoor tennis courts were unavailable due to a long function. Provision of drinks in the room was a bit stingy, and my request for some sachets for the kids was ignored! Take some of your own hot chocolate.

Other than the incident above, the service was outstanding. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the indoor swimming pool.

There was no where on the registration websight to let The Hotel know I was active duty military. When I checked in, I asked if there was a military discount. I was told yes, but I had to give that information in advance. I asked if there was anyway I could get it and was told "no". I was very disappointed.

Het ligt zeer centraal t.o.v. Leiden/Den Haag/Scheveningen; prima service, goede bedden, heerlijk ontbijt/diner, niets op aan te merken.

We sliepen aan de binnentuin en dat was erg gehorig qua het gebruik van bestek, borden, dat galmde behoorlijk naar boven en was niet bepaald lekker slapen/relaxen. Verder ook de ballenbak in de binnentuin was erg rumoerig voor uitslapen, etc.; Wellicht een suggestie: Om de ruimte af te schermen met plastic glas, doeken aan het plafond, lichtdoorlatend, zodat het geluid wordt gereduceerd.
