Hotel Tulip Inn Leiden Centre is located near the centre of the old university town. Many interesting sights can be found in the city and the surroundings. The flower bulb field and the beach resorts Katwijk and Noordwijk are also nearby.

Tulip Inn Leiden Centre is within walking distance of the historical centre with its canals, churches, museums and other sights. The hotel lies opposite the central train station of Leiden and is next door to hotel Golden Tulip Leiden Centre. Guests of hotel Tulip Inn may also use the cosy bar, the lobby with fireplace and 'Restaurant Rubens' of the Golden Tulip hotel.

All hotel rooms have a bathroom with shower or bath and an in-house movie system. Thanks to it central location the hotel can easily be reached by car and by public transport. Schiphol Amsterdam Airport can be reached within 20 minutes. The hotel has its own parking where guests can leave their car at an additional charge.

The extensive breakfast buffet is available on Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 10:00 h. and on the weekend from 07:30 to 10:30 h. There are vending machines with soft drinks and snacks in the corridor.
In 'Restaurant Rubens' one can choose from a varied menu of seasonal dishes. The restaurant is open on Monday through Saturday from 18:00 to 21:30 h. Guests can visit the hotel from 07:00 h. for a cup of coffee. The bar is open until 01:00 on weekdays and until 23:00 h. during the weekend.

Perfect location for business trips. Relatively cheap hotel which offers comfort.

Internet connection: it is a normal practice for hotels to offer free access to Wi-Fi connection to their guest. Unfortunately this is not the case here.

Clean, but not really traveller friendly

The breakfast is good.

the price for TV internet at room showed on TV and on the book were quite different; moreover, the receptionist's attitude was not friendly and she was not willing to help guests understand about the price differences and definition. Besides, although it is 3-star hotel, it is suggested that the rooms still are required to have small refrigerators or water boiler equiped.

Great location for Keukenhof

Very convenient to the train / bus (about a block) - since I was going to Keukenhof for the day and then back to the airport, it was perfect. There are frequent buses (#54) to the garden and it's easy to explore Leiden on foot from the hotel.

Convenient location but the hygiene in the rooms...

The location is very convenient, at walking distance to Leiden train station. In a very short time you can be in Amsterdam. The breakfast buffet is wide and tasty, and includes a wide choice of sweet and savoury food. The reception at our arrival was quick, friendly and professional.

The room was definitely not clean enough : one of the bed sheets was dirty - horrible red stripes on the inner side, on which we decided not to investigate furtherly. It was thrown directly into the armoire. In any case, we had the clear impression that the sheets had not been washed (or washed not properly) after the stay of the previous guests. Same negative overall impression about the cleanless the room (moquette, bathroom etc). This is totally unacceptable for a hotel of this level.

Good location - but please better light for reading in the room.

Location very good.

The light in the room is totally inadequate for reading. This most important minus point. When I arrived a bulb was defect. The drain of the shower was half clogged. During my 2-week stay a lamp in the bathroom started flickering and had to be replaced. In each of the cases, I had to ask at the reception to repair, even though in the case of the bathroom lamp and drain I waited for some days before saying something. People who clean the room must see the same defects. This means that the persons who clean the room are not interested. What I did not complain about is that there where small black dots at a particular place in the shower. This is some kind of fungus. I might expect better cleanliness. One evining I came back late (after 24.00 h.) and wanted a drink. Some personel of the hotel were taking a last drink after work, but to me they told that the bar was closed and I had buy a beer from the vending machine. I would appreciate a little bit more flexibility; they could have given me a beer (with a glas) to take to my room.

Would be nice to have a minibar. I'm always annoyed at how much hotels charge for internet, and in this regard the tulip is just like all hotels.

good location but overpriced

Great location. Right across the from the train station, and a 5-minute walk to Centrum. Nice lobby, rooms reasonably comfortable. Expensive restaurant, but the food is quite good. In any event, the hotel is close to many restaurants and coffee houses. The breakfast buffet is pretty good, if a little pricey at 17 euros.

Very overpriced with little included. A computer with internet service availabe for .35 a minute, or a useless room connection for a laptop for 7 euro per day. Ours would not work, so it was .35 per minute for us. Ridiculous for a business hotel. The same trip, I stayed in hotels in Utrecht and in Germany, all with free wireless AND free use of a hotel computer.

Service: personnel not very kind. One day, when we arrived, we saw that they forgot to put towels. As we requested them to Reception, they answered that at that moment nobody was available; after THREE reclamations, and about almost one hour!, my wife had to go down to Reception to demand the towels.

Very close to train station & bus to Keukenhof - walking distance to center of Leiden. Did not try the restaurant. Was upgraded to the 4 star hotel that is a part of the same complex on arrival. The room was very comfortable and quiet. At least 4 windmills within a few blocks walking distance and very close to the university medical center.

The above criticisms are quite minor. I had a very nice stay, the hotel was quite nice and reasonably priced, the breakfast was good, the location was good, and the staff were friendly. I will stay here again when I return to Leiden.

Room was a bit too hot, and by opening the windows it became too noisy. The book in the room said that there was aircon, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it on. Maids arrived at just past 9 am, which woke me as I was sleeping late. Couldn't find a "Do not disturb" sign in room.

Relatively easy to find.

Good location, comfortable beds.

Breakfast: for 14 euro's you would expect better quality. The coffee was horrible, the orange juice not fresh and very cheap quality, there was no fresh fruit salad available, also the tables were not clean and we had to remove breadcrumbs from the chairs before we could sit down. We had breakfast only once in the hotel, the next time we went to another restaurant where we had breakfast for 3 euro which was much better quality.
