Russell May Failed to impress me on this visit.: 19 February 2011; 7.4; + The staff were reasonably friendly and helpful on reception. The staff in the restaurant were also friendly.; - The room lighting was extremely poor (dark), the lamps are such a low wattage I could hardly see anything. On checking out I had to use a torch to see into the wardrobe to make sure nothing was left behind. The main stairwell is used to collect dirty bottles, glasses, cups, etc. and not once during my three nights stay did I find this area clear of dirty crockery. On my second evening in the restaurant it took 40 mins from the time I was handed a menu before someone finally took my order and that was only because I got up from my table and asked for someone to take my order!!!

Richard Harding Great hotel, well positioned and appointed, but please give us tea :): 28 June 2009; 8.8; + Lovely hotel; the balconies were an excellent feature and the staff very helpful.; - I realise it's not the done thing in Dutch hotels, but we English really would massively appreciate tea and coffee making facilities in the room. It's not that we don't want to pay for them at the bar, it's quite simply that a hotel's facilities aren't always open at the times when some of us - my girlfriend in particular - crave a cup of tea!

Service friendly.; - I hate !!! those wet towels cove ring the bread baskets at the breakfast buffet. No need to encourage bacterial growth. Beds are on the soft side, and the TV old fashioned. Refurbishment would not be overdue.

My message since 6 years is that there is not enough lighting in the rooms. Are we the only ones who noticed this? Get a cook in the kitchen rather than an accountant. His first action: purchase a new coffee machine, e.g. like the one vdValk in Hengelo has and get a similar quality breakfast. Why wet tea towles on the buns? To keep them fresh? Ask a microbiologist whether she/she would like this? Brrrr....

Location excellent, close to major motorway network.; - An old problem about which we have been complaining since years: The rooms are too dark, i.e. all light bulbs are too weak. This is not the case in all Van der Valk hotels, so why in Leusden? Investing in a decent coffee machine is well over due!

Much appreciated after a long drive. Plenty of parking space Nice big rooms; - Our major issue is the insuffient lighting in the otherwise comfortable room. This point has been raised by me for the last four years. Are we the only ones who want to be able to read in bed? In the past, there was more choice at breakfast (cheese,meat) The shower cubicle could be cleaner.

Dr. M. Snel: 10 April 2007; 8.2; + Large comfortable rooms (except for lighting!)and good, clean bathroom with plenty of towels. Friendly and helpful service at reception. Generally, high level of courtesy. Breakfast is excellent; - Rooms are absolutely too dark. Reading a book before going to sleep is nearly impossible.

I found both courses inedible which was a shame as a lovely restuarant and happy staff and a poor meal.

Bedienend personeel zeer correct.; - Veel te weinig licht op de kamer, handwasmiddel bij toilettafel zat praktisch niets in. Na veel drukken kwam er een enkele druppel. Te weinig informatie aan de balie. Behandeling weinig vriendelijk.Het eten mag beslist warmer opgediend worden, bij aanvang maaltijd was het lauwwarm.

Maybe an extra person on reception to answer phone.

Anonymous Prima hotel, fijne medewerkers, lekker eten en een geweldig ontbijt: 31 December 2011; 8.4; + Prima hotel, fijne medewerkers , lekker eten en een uitgebreid ontbijt.; - Jammer dat er net niet voldoende onderhoud wordt gepleegd. In kamer 220 zit de koud waterkraan los in de wand waardoor het achter de tegels lekt. Dit gaat nog even goed en dan vallen de voegen uit de tegels waardoor het dan niet meer schoon te houden is en alle ongemakken van dien. Kleine moeite om dit te voorkomen.

Anonymous Gemengd: 21 November 2011; 7.6; + bij het restaurant zeer vriendelijk en oprecht; - de brunch wij wachten door lange rij met toetje maar toen wij eenmaal gingen was alles behalve ijstaart en ijs op dit terwijl wij een kwartier ervoor koffie pakte en de slagroom toen ook al op was attendeerde ik de dame achter het ijs erop en die zei het moet geklopt worden uiteindelijk zijn wij 14.15 vertrokken want toen wachtte wij al meer dan een kwartier eer het aangevuld was ook indine je er slaapt en gaat brunchen kun je al die tijd nergens koffie krijgen dit daar de bar pas om 12 uur open gaat

Dit hotel voldoet precies aan de verwachtingen die ik heb van van der Valk: ruim en comfortabel zonder overbodige luxe en voor een redelijke prijs.; - Wasbak liep langzaam leeg. Deze klacht werd serieus genomen en waar ik bij stond doorgegeven aan een medewerker van de technische dienst.

Anonymous Schönes Wochenendhotel: 11 October 2011; 7.6; + Großes Zimmer - nicht mehr ganz neu, aber alles da. Schönes Bad mit Dusche und Wanne. Balkone von unserem Zimmer komplett offen zu den Nachbarn. Zimmer ganz oben sollte man nur bei gutem Wetter nehmen, da dort keine Überdachung. Frühstück war gut, am Buffet leider alles etwas eng. Am Sonntagmorgen sehr voll, wir waren froh nach draußen zu können. Abendessen im Hotel war ok, der Service nicht ganz so gut. Ohne Auto sollte man nicht dort sein, fußläufig ist nichts erreichbar.
