Description

Right in the middle of the flower bulb region lies Hotel de Duif Lisse. During the season the flowering crocuses, narcissus and tulips create a beautiful backdrop. From the hotel one can make nice day trips to such places as Amsterdam, The Hague (Den Haag) and Scheveningen.

The hotel rooms are equipped with a shower, toilet and a television. The suites also offer a kitchen. For business meetings the hotel offers two meeting rooms. The friendly staff can supply guests with information about the surroundings.

Food and Drinks

In the hotel the breakfast is served between 07:00 and 10:00 h. on Monday through Friday and from 08:00 to 10:00 h. during the weekend. One can also order a packed lunch.
The lounge is located next to the patio garden and is therefore a nice place to sit. The hotel also has a bar, which is open from 13:00 to 23:30 h.
Guests often have dinner in 'Drank- en Eetlokaal Op Visite' which is connected to the hotel, but has a different owner. Here one can choose from four different menus with a starter, main course and dessert. Besides meat and fish dishes there are also vegetarian options. The kitchen is open from 17:00 to 21:30 h. and on Saturday from 11:00 h. Within walking distance there are about 15 other restaurants as well.

Internet

Wireless Internet is available throughout the hotel at an additional charge. In the lounge guests can use the hotel's laptop at an additional charge. This laptop is available between 07:00 and 24:00 h.

Surroundings

Hotel de Duif lies in the centre of Lisse. The 'Keukenhof' spring garden is within walking distance. Scheveningen and The Hague are about 30 kilometres away. In these places one can spend a day on the beach, go shopping or visit museums. The bird park 'Avifauna' in Alphen aan den Rijn and the 'Rijksmuseum van Oudheden' (antiquities) in Leiden can also be visited.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great interior design of public spaces. Delicious and extensive breakfast included.Suite 2-story desihn was good for down time and privacy and had nice decor.; - It was Queens Day and there was lots of partying in streets that we could hear rather loudly. Would be great if one desired to join in, but we were tired and wanted to sleep.

Karin: 2 April 2008; 9.2; + it was so close to keukenoff, just a 10 minute walk. close to many shops and great restaurants. the staff was wonderful! the bed was very comfortable and the baby crib was larger than most american cribs. a restaurant is attached to the hotel that made it great not to have to go out in the rain. and the continental breakfast is wonderful. wpuld stay again.; - the shower was not closed off and left a lot of water on the floor. the room was quite small but not a problem. the TV was broken and didn't get fixed after notifying the staff. not in the room enough to make a difference.

No bathroom floor-mat was provided, which would be very good for the small space. The bathroom shower in the upstairs room for 3, was unacceptable. The way the floor was built, the water did not drain away well and there was water all around the sink and toilet after taking a shower.

A taxi was arranged with ease. The breakfast selection was very good and always quickly replenished. We would visit again and recommend to others wishing to visit the area.

Een erg vriendelijke bediening; - Binnen zeer oudbollig kleine badkamer met douchegordijn niet meer van deze tijd. De terrassen vol onkruid geeft een uitgeleefde indruk.

Nach einer Nacht war Umzug in 1. OG möglich. Dortiges Zimmer noch winziger aber sauber. Fensterrahmen durchgefault/ völlig morsch.; - 1. Zimmer im Dachgeschoss ungereinigt. Dusche defekt. Fenster undicht Regenwasser im Zimmer. Es wurde nur ein Handtuch ausgelegt. Kühlschrank im zweiten Zimmer heizte statt zu kühlen. Zimmer extrem klein und hellhörig.
