Description
The renovated Hotel Van Eyck is a four star hotel with a historic character. It faces the pleasant town square and has both deluxe and superior rooms and two suites. The elegantly furnished rooms have a bathroom, telephone, minibar, television with movie channels and wireless internet. Hotel Van Eyck also has 2 meeting rooms and an infrared sauna. In the breakfast room a buffet is available in the morning and in the evening you can dine à la carte in the restaurant and afterwards sit down in the brasserie overlooking the charming town square.
Maaseik has a rich archaeological past and those who are interested in archaeology, should visit the Regional Archaeological Museum. In the historical centre of Maaseik examples of various building styles can be viewed, from Renaissance to Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassicism. On the pleasant market square statues of the Van Eyck brothers overlook the many taverns and cafés.
The shops in the downtown pedestrian Bosstraat offer quality, affordability and customer service. Near Maaseik are a number of outlet shopping centres. Maasmechelen Village offers 95 luxury boutiques and Roermond Designer Outlet has over 100 stores. Both centres are open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 h.
Food and Drinks
A breakfast buffet is available from Monday to Saturday from 07:00 and 10:00 h. and on Sunday from 08:00 to 11:00 h.
De bar is open from 08:00 till 24:00 uur and the Brasserie from 11:00 till 22:00 h. In summer you can sit on the brasserie's large terrace overlooking the market until late at night. The extensive menu offers savoury snacks and steak with homemade fries.
The restaurant is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 18:00 to 22:00 h. Reservations are required. The kitchen team is committed to making the fresh seasonal produce look like tasty little works of art.

In and around Maaseik is much to see and do and Hotel Van Eyck is a good base for exploring the area. You can make a boat trip or go horse riding, fishing or skating at the skatepark in the romantic Neeroeteren. The beautiful Opoeteren in the Oeterdal is called Little Switzerland because it is perfect for walking and fishing in the trout ponds. The vast area Hoge Kempen and the Meuse valley are beautiful walking areas.
