In the heart of the centre of the delightful city Maastricht you will find the charming Hotel Bigarré with a view of the river Maas. This hotel breathes a pleasant atmosphere and offers great service. Apart from the 28 hotel rooms in hotel Bigarré, there are twenty luxurious apartments for rent in the city centre.

The romantically decorated small-scale Hotel Bigarré is established in historic premises alongside the river Maas in the centre of the vibrant city of Maastricht. The hotel is a perfect starting point to explore every aspect of this interesting city. Did you know that its history dates back for more than 2050 years when the Romans founded a settlement here? The rich history is still tangible. But the city is also known for its ample shopping opportunities, from classical shops to exceptionally trendy ones. There's definitely no need to get bored.

Hotel Bigarré contains 18 comfortably furnished hotel rooms. Besides this there are seven luxurious apartments for rent in the city centre. The hotel rooms are all provided with a bathroom with a shower or bath and a toilet, a television with VCR, safe, mini bar, hair dryer and alarm clock. You can enjoy the extensive breakfast in the morning in the cosy breakfast room. Do you prefer a little more privacy? Book one of the very spacious (60 m2) apartments in the city centre. They are provided with every modern amenity and are situated on de Markt and the Kleine Gracht.

Food and Drinks

The breakfast room has been tastefully decorated. The extensive breakfast is served at your table and additionally in the form of a buffet from 07:30 until 10:30 h.
There is no restaurant in the hotel, but in the close vicinity you will find a very broad choice of cafes and restaurants. There is something for everybody's taste.

Guests can use the wireless Internet throughout the hotel free of charge.

Other information

- The hotel does not have a 24-hour reception. It is possible to check in until 22:00 h.
- An additional bed can be placed on request for €35 a night.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Luggage can be stored at the reception.

Surroundings

The old harbour 't Bassin that was founded in 1826 is just a stone's throw away from the hotel. It was completely renovated in 2001 and is now used as a landing stage for pleasure boats. It has become an ideal spot for relaxing at a pavement cafe, while checking out the boats, or enjoying a delicious meal in a restaurant that is established in one of the restored storage cellars.

A drive out ticket will only be given at check out.
• ChildrenChildren aged up to 3 years can stay for free in the parents' room. A cot can be placed for free on request. Children between 3 and 12 years old are charged €9.50 per night and their breakfast costs €9.50 as well. There is a standard tariff of €35 a night for an additional bed for everybody aged up from 12. Location, service and charm!

I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel. my husband and I stayed for one night in the newest decorated rooms and they were very charming and classy. great location. Seeing as my husbamd had crutches with him and was still recovering after a knee surgery, the receptionist recommended a good room on the ground floor and which had an easy acess to the shower. Very good service and great location.

It was still some finishing touches on the room that could have been done properly, like missing lightbolbs, no remote control for the tv, dust in the corners of the room, missing drawers from the desk. It all gave us an impression that it looked superficially nice. But in fact there were many "little" things that should have been sorted better. Very cold room as weel. Facing the street. Not very good insolation. - toilet /bathroom was built in a box so it gave an impression of being in an "out-house".

Ok, but not very satisfactory

It is a very old and quaint hotel. Some improvement could be done, since I did not feel very comfortable upon entering the building. I felt rather unsafe. The room itself was ok, bathroom also. Within pricerange I would say it was alright.

Not a safe evironment and the whole building did not look very appealing to me. I was rather glad to be out of there.

Ask if the lift is working before booking!

Great location in the city.

- No microwave and clothes drier as promised in the advertisement. - When we check in (at 7.30 pm), the receptionist didn't inform us that the lift to the apartment is broken. We had to carry big luggage through very steep stairs for 2 floors in the dark as there is no light in the corridor. Our downstairs neighbour said that they had complained about the lift for 10 days and was always promised the lift would be fixed the day after, but it never happened. - It's a studio with separate sleeping area (with no door), not a 1 bedroom apartment.

Location, style of hotel & rooms, very big living room and kitchen, nice bathroom

Cleanliness - although this was remedied quickly; washer/dryer was hard to figure out as it is very different than an American W/D. Also, the smell of the bay sometimes was very pungent. Evenings could be noisy.

Convenient location near city centre

Dust everywere and many spiderewebs in the room, including on nightable lamps. Bad smell from rotting material in a water gutter running just under room window. Room terribly hot and air unbreathable on arrival. Had to keep window open overnight to refresh. Parking too expensive for poor conditions of parking lot (discarded construction material hindered car manouvres)

Horrible!

The location was great.

The hotel had advertised newly renovated rooms...which apparently they had, just not for use! We were in one of the oldest, dirtiest, most uncomfortable hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. If it had been for more than one night and we hadn't just traveled 12 hours with an infant, we would have changed hotels. It was awful. Truly awful.

The personal was very friendly. The room was big enough and it was silent. The beds were comfort.

The toilet was not cleaned every day. The air freshner in toilet smells a lot. There should be a mosquito net in the window, since when you wish to sleep window open mosqutios fly in and bite you during the night.

The staff were very helpful, the breakfast was of high quality and served in pleasant surroundings. The TV reception was good, the beds were very comfortable, and the bath and shower were well appointed and worked perfectly.

There was no plug in the bathroom basin, and it was not replaced when I requested one; the bathroom was not cleaned at all on that day also.

good location, pretty good hotel, a bit expensive

close to town, right by bus stop, fluffy, comfortable blanket. people were very friendly and helpful. our bed was not always made / fresh towels...but we left late some mornings, so maybe that is our fault. overall, good hotel, good experience, it was cozy, and thank god our heater worked really well--its cold here!

the two beds didn't stay together, so we were always waking up in a space between the mattresses; the shower spray-thing was broken, so it was always falling off. we ended up paying a lot more than we had wanted to. i dont think it was really worth 100-euro-or-so per night cost. (beware the maastricht tourist tax!)

Although the room was an adequate size, the bed was a little too short (even though I am only 5'8"). Access to the shower was awkward.

We saw photos on line the apartment looked adaquit. When we checked in we were very pleased the accomadations were more than we excepted. The location was perfect, near food shopping and the market square. Maastricht is a great city!

The apartment could have been a little less dusty but that is a very minor point. Overall we would give Hotel Bigarre a 9

Strong smell of air freshener, obviously masking something even worse. Decoration and furnishing looked a little tired, but the bed was clean & comfortable & everything worked. Noisy road outside the hotel. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel if you're a light sleeper.

A very good location which suited my needs excellently. the staff were very friendly and helpful beyond that one usually gets. the room suited my needs and I was content to stay there.

The security/fire hinges on the doors were the noisest i have expereinced anywhere in the world in 40 years of travel. i understand fully their need but something quiter and less nosiy on contact would make guests not be woken up late at night or early in the morning.

Warme overnachting in modern luxe historische panden

Authentieke historische panden, verzorgd en luxe ingericht. Ruime sfeervolle kamers, grote bedden en uitstekende badkamervoorziening. Rustige omgeving. Parkeergelegenheid bij hotel.

Bedden aan de zachte kant door boxspring, aparte bedden die uiteenschuiven bij verplaatsen in bed, op de parketvloeren. Synthetische dekbedden die niet ventileren = transpireren. Op de voorkamer waar wij de tweede nacht, ivm wel een tweepersoonsbed, verbleven ging de hele nacht door een alarmachtig (droger?) geluid af. Onbewaakte parkeergelegenheid bij hotel is duurder dan 24 uur in de 5 meter verderop gelegen parkeergarage (die al om 19u sluit). In februari 2010 €21 per nacht!! Douche op eerste kamer stroomde over, verborgen doucheput was verstopt.

Goed hotel voor max. 2 nachten

De lokatie was uitstekend, op 5 min. van het centrum. Wij kregen eerst een kamer in het bijgebouw, 2 deuren verder, welke bij ons zeer klein en mistroostig over kwam. Wij zijn toen wel heel goed en aardig geholpen aan een kamer in het hoofdgebouw tegen een geringe upgrade. De receptioniste raadde ons zeer goed aan een kamer aan de achterzijde vanwege de drukte aan de voorzijde. Bed was ook goed. Ontbijt van € 16 p/p was zeer goed en uitgebreid, met zelfs een glas champagne. Beter dan prijs/kwaliteit van de kamers. Wel aardig dat wij na uitchecken nog enige uren op parkeerplaats van hotel mochten staan.

Onder het bed lag veel stof enz. De douche zat zeer weinig druk op, kleine straal. Helaas geen minibar op kamer. En wat ook fijn zou zijn is een (pas)spiegel in de kamer zelf! Het ontbijt was dus zeer goed, maar erg koud in ontbijtruimte!

Hotel voldeed niet aan onze verwachting.

De ligging is erg mooi gelegen in het centrum van Maastricht .

We hadden een de luxe kamer gereserveerd, echter kregen we nog minden als een standaard kamer. Hert was erg fris op de kamer omdat de verwarming het niet deed. Parkeren was erg duur voor een niet bewaakte parkeerplaatsen.

Lekker weekend weg in de stad Maastricht

Perfecte lokatie t.o.v. binnenstad, goed alles op loopafstand. Heerlijk dat er eigen parkeergelegenheid was. De kamer was groot, prima badkamer en sfeervol ingericht. Uitstraling van de kamer prima.

Kamer sober qua aankleding (geen linnenkast). Afwerking niet helemaal tot in de puntjes in orde (los behang, erg lage wastafel etc.)
