With its location at the back of an old mansion, De Stadswal offers a haven of peace. You will not even notice the traffic. The hotel is an excellent starting point to explore the city of Maastricht from. The history of the city on the Maas river is centuries-old. In the centre you can find many churches, treasure-houses and mansions from the glorious days. A visit to the Bonnefantenmuseum in the trendy city district Ceramique is also truly recommended.
The hotel offers two rooms with cofee and tea making facilities and two box-spring beds, that can either be placed separately or next to eachother. In the corridor you will find the shower, bath and toilet.

De Stadswal is located in the old city centre of Maastricht, at 100 metres from the Vrijthof square and 30 metres from the St. Servaas basilica. The city on the Maas river has an attractive centre. The remains of the town ramparts and the underground fortification show the city's rich history. You can also enjoy shopping in the abundance of chain-stores and exclusive boutiques. Outside of Maastricht you can explore the hilly landscape of the province of Limburg by following one of the available walking and cycling routes.
Food and Drinks
The breakfast buffet is served on week days from 08:00 until 10:30 h. and on the weekend from 08:30 until 10:30 h. Other times are possible on request. On sunny days you can enjoy your breakfast in the garden. The hotel does not have a restaurant or a bar. Within walking distance you will find numerous restaurants for a lovely lunch or dinner.

Excellent, generous hosts. We were picked up from the train - so nice after a long day of travelling and suitcase even carried to our room. . Breakfast great value and delicious.
