Surroundings
The free shuttle bus of Novotel Maastricht allows you to reach the city centre, the Central Station or the MECC in no time. Maastricht is known for its history and culture, which is reflected in the beautiful historic buildings, the ancient defences and Romanesque churches such as the Onze LieveVrouwbasiliek (Basilica of Our Lady) and the Basiliek van St. Servaas (Basilica of Saint Servatius). Whilst strolling through the city centre you will find an abundance of boutiques, galleries and antique shops. The neighbourhoods Ceramique and Wijck are also definitely worth a visit. These areas house attractions such as Centre Ceramique cultural centre, the Bonnefantenmuseum, which displays modern art, as well as nice shopping streets and numerous renowned restaurants. Several options for a day out with your family include the caves of St. Peter and the Drielandenpunt in Vaals (literally the '3 countries point', where the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium meet). Here young (and older) children can enjoy themselves for hours on end trying to find their way out of the Drielanden Labyrinth.

Good hygiene, service and comfort. Location is ok since there is a shuttle bus taking you to and from the city and station.
–
The breakfast was way to expensive for what you get. 18,50 Euro for a simple breakfast feels not right, the price of the hotel is ok though. Maybe it would have been better if the personnel would have told us that the breakfast is so expensive upfront.
*my tipAsk for the price of the breakfast upfront.

Great family and pet-friendly hotel with a pool
+
Great place to bring your family, especially with children and a small dog. Our child enjoyed the small playground, the trees, and our dog enjoyed coming with us for the weekend. The pool is a plus especially with having restaurant pool-side service!
–
No return-ride back from the city via the shuttle service provided by the hotel.

Poor location for old town
+
Close to motorway connections, and with easy parking, this standard Novotel in the Accor chain is fine for an overnight stop or for visitors to the nearby exhibition halls. Courtesy bus into town is very helpful (but no return provided). Staff are very pleasant.
–
Soulless, box-like hotel in an unloved corner of Maastricht. It is a 30 minute walk to the old town through an unpleasant district. It has the feel of a "businessman's hotel" (which it is). Expensive.

poor service: a real disapointment
+
Mini bus service/soccer table for the kids.
–
The resturant service was probably the worst experience I have had ever. I had to ask several times for my children to obtain a simple bread roll. After 40 minutes I had to raise my voice just to get the bread roll which was a real disapointment. I felt that the service was inflexible as it seemed to only deal with one table at a time (the whole "experience took over 2 hours).

The shuttle service and front desk service was very good and kind.

The cover bed were dirty, and when I ask the front desk, they said but there are more covers in the room and it's not possible all of them are dirty!!!! since my point of view as a client anyone of the cover must be dirty, it's a bad impression for customers.
