The boutique Hotel de Pauwenhof Maastricht is situated in a 17th century monumental building which used to function as a patrician's mansion and a boarding school for girls. After a thorough restoration the hotel opened its doors in 1999. During the building work some of the historic elements were preserved, among which are a mosaic on the floor, several murals as well as some ornaments on the ceilings. Hotel de Pauwenhof has 15 luxurious comfortable rooms. Some of the rooms are located on the ground floor and are adjacent to the lovely garden to the rear of the hotel. The rooms have excellent amenities such as air conditioning, a minibar and a marble bathroom with a bathtub and shower. This hotel offers a welcoming and warm atmosphere, where both the business and the leisure traveller will feel at ease.
At just a stone's throw from the hotel you can find the squares Markt, Vrijthof and the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein. Maastricht is known for its vibrant city centre, that offers an abundance of pleasant shops and renowned restaurants. The city's nightlife takes place in the numerous cafés. During day time you can find a lively atmosphere in 't Bassin, the old inner port that is located at just 500 meters from the hotel. In this area there are numerous old warehouses that are nowadays used as living or working space and the former wharf cellars now often house excellent restaurants.
Food and Drinks
Besides hotel rooms Hotel de Pauwenhof also has a cosy restaurant. Please notice that this restaurant only caters for groups with a minimum of 15 people and needs to be reserved in advance. There are options for a private group lunch or dinner, a reception or business meetings. The hotel serves a breakfast buffet in the morning, from Monday to Friday it starts at 07:00h and at 08:00 h. during the weekend. Hotel guests can enjoy a drink in the lounge until 23:00 h.

Hotel de Pauwenhof is a very comfortable starting point to explore Maastricht and its surroundings. - I am not sure why hotels in Holland no not include breakfast with the cost of a hotel stay, but it would certainly be helpful, especially for us business men who have to detail our travel expenses. 16 Euros for a buffet breakfast is too much in any case.
The 3rd floor room was noisy, was awaken several times during the night by noisy neighbors and gurggling water pipes/showers.

- Hoe je als gast wordt benaderd!
- Ons verblijf in De Pauwenhof leek in het water te vallen toen de eigenaar van De Pauwenhof ons vertelde dat andere gasten onze auto in de veilige parkeerplaats van het hotel met een kapotte achterruit aan hadden getroffen.. Uiteindelijk bleek dat de ruit waarschijnlijk spontaan is gesprongen.
De eigenaar van De Pauwenhof heeft alle mogelijk moeite gedaan om ons te helpen: kopje thee, inschakelen van reparateur en tonen van bezorgdheid. Wij voelden ons gasten waarvoor gezorgd werd.
Als je dit combineert met de prima kwaliteit van de faciliteiten van dit hotel, dan kunnen we niet anders zeggen dan dat we hier in de toekomst graag terugkomen.

- Ligt midden in het centrum van Maastricht, dus ideaal voor een stads verblijf. Goede afgesloten parking, erg rustig hotel.

Geen dynamisch hotel, dus voor jongere mensen minder geschikt. Alles is aanwezig, maar verwacht geen mega hotelkamer. Het past allemaal maar net.

- Mooi klein hotel op 5 minuten lopen van het centrum, toch bijzonder rustig.De entree en benedenverdieping zijn zeer de moeite waard en prachtig in stijl gerenoveerd. Ook het ontbijtbuffet is uitstekend en zeer uitgebreid.
De badkamer is niet groot maar wel mooi en bijzonder goed schoon. De bedden zijn stevig maar prima.Fijn dat je zelf een kop thee of koffie kunt maken. Dit werd ook na gebruik steeds aangevuld. Het personeel is vriendelijk maar kortaf. Erg complete kamer met strijkplank en bout, broekenpers en genoeg stopcontacten voor opladers/ laptop e.d.
- Na de mooie entree is de kamer een absolute tegenvaller. Ik sliep op een zolderkamer met dakkapel. Een weliswaar complete maar zeer kleine kamer. Met de gordijnen kon je de kamer niet verduisteren omdat de zijkant van een tweede dakkapel van glas was, zonder gordijn. De inrichting van de kamer is in een totaal andere stijl dan de rest van het hotel. Nu ineens stoffige nepplantjes, hypermoderne leer met aluminium stoeltjes en een glazen tafeltje, gele nepgordijntjes die niet dicht konden (wel verduisterings rolgordijnen maar niet bij elk raam) tegenover zeer mooi eigentijds klassiek beneden. Een echte afknapper, de stijl past totaal niet bij het hotel.Het ontbijtbuffet sluit klokslag 9.30. Ik was 10 minuten te laat en kreeg weliswaar een vervangend ontbijtje maar moest daar wel de volle mep (€16,-)voor betalen.Ik vind het hotel veel te duur voor het gebodene. De totale afwezigheid van roomservice is jammer en er is niets te krijgen buiten de mini-bar. Het personeel zou eens in een echt goed hotel moeten gaan kijken en daar leren wat gastvrijheid is.

- Als je er eenmaal bent is het goed vertoefen
- Prima persoonlijke service en goed ontbijt.
Bedden zijn dik in orde. Fijne badkamer met alles er op en er aan.
- De bereikbaarheid was wat lastig. Maar als je er eenmaal bent is het een fantastisch hotel.

- Perfecte ligging, centraal en toch rustig. Een heerlijk breed bad. Een goed ontbijtbuffet met veel keuze en lekker vers brood.
