The nearly 100 meters high tower of St Rumbold's Cathedral dominates the cityscape. You may want to climb the more than 500 steps in the tower – just like Nappleon did - and enjoy the view. Mechelen is the centre of the famous carilloneurs and the royal carilloneur school attracts students from around the world. In summer, free carillon concerts are held in the St. Rumbold's Tower.
