When staying in the capital of the province of Zeeland you should visit the Zeeuws Museum, dedicated to the history of the province. The museum is housed in the Abbey of Middelburg, only a few minutes' walk from Guesthouse 1560. In addition to the museum's permanent collection, many new exhibitions are on display.
A walking tour through Middelburg is highly recommended, especially strolling through the Kuiperspoort, the most charming street in Middelburg. This little 14th century street is hidden behind the Rouaansekaai. The moment you walk through the gate you feel as if you have stepped back in time. In 1642 the Kuipersgilde (barrel makers guild) was housed in the gatehouse as it was a very convenient location to roll drums and barrels along the quayside. The gate is open from dawn till dusk.
Food and Drinks
Breakfast is served from 07:00 to 11:30 h, at the weekend from 08:00 to 11:30 h. In fine weather you can enjoy your breakfast in the backyard or in the kitchen of the guesthouse. The guesthouse does not have a bar or restaurant but in the centre of Middelburg, you will find many options for a snack and a drink.

Naturally, as the province is surrounded by water, Zeeland offers many opportunities for water sports enthusiasts.
